...you were going to be away for nearly 3 weeks?
I'm going to Vietnam - leaving Thursday AM and won't be back until Mid March.
I'll keep my mainstream pop e-mail open, but I have a primary adult POP account I use for all sponsors,
It gets a shitload of spam along with some of the normal stuff like newsletters, hosted gallery updates, sponsor news, etc...
Even on a cable modem...I cannot see downloading 21 or so days worth of e-mail.
My only concern is that I know sometimes sponsors send out e-mails just to check if they still exist.
But, I can just contact them when I get back I suppose. The account gets appx 300 e-mails per day. 99% is spam.
Or, should I just say fuck it and as long as the box is on my dedicated server...it doens't matter much how much mail builds up?

Can you set it up with an autoresponder while you're away?

Sure.
I can also put a spam filter into place. I'll keep it active. Not such a big deal to let the 'puter DL a bunch of e-mails. :)

Why don't you use Spam Arrest?
Useless

Alpha, the war is over. Let it go man. Move on.
Everybody!
And it's 1 2 3 what are we fighting for?
Don't ask me I don't give a damn!
Next up another Viet Nam.
And it's 5 6 7 open up the pearly gates.
There ain't no time to wonder why
We are all gonna die.
Me fuck you long time…
Sorry my fingers just couldn’t be stopped from typing that. :D
I have my mail program set to not download images or files unless I tell it to after seeing a message. I also have its built-in spam filters trained to catch close to 99% of the spam that is sent me so I never even see it. Even on a really slow connection I can still stay in contact and always do.
I never stay out of contact. Just look what happened to DirtyD last weekend.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds —
The only good commie is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come
:)
The best song ever written in my opinion!!!

I would recommend you set up spam arrest or similar... that would get rid of most of the crap, and leave you with only a little mail to handle on return. Then you can turn it back off! ;-)
Good luck in vietnam... remember, never walk in the rain without a raincoat!

|pimpin I just hope he takes lots of pictures
Null route it until you get back. Some of your spam will cut down due to the bounces and you won't have to check it all when you get back.

Okie dokie- I'll probably not do anything 'cos I have a bunch of stuff to do. No biggie.
I'll still login to my main e-mail account via webmail. My porn addy will just collect until I get back.
Thing with spam filters is that they tend to catch adult sponsor newsletters. I'll probably look into spam arrest when I get back.

I use mail2web.com whenever I am out of town on business. Got to be one of the best sites ever for people who travel.
Another option is to redirect it to one of those giga-mail accounts.
Almost got shanghaied to Vietnam about 10 years ago. A company president at the same hotel I was staying at, tried to volunteer me for a dam building project he was setting up.
