I am curious as to why after so many posted problems, anyone would use godaddy. Spend the extra $5/year and get a decent registrar.

Must be something like the way folks keep on using Windows.

I've warned a friend about godaddy, but "oh, I've had no problems." Maybe not so far. Hate to see him learn the hard way, but usually par for course.

Dido to what Alex said, been using domainnamesytems for a long time and nothing but good.

But I will be moving, I guess to Active Domains (http://www.active-domain.com/price.htm), they're only charging about 50 Cents more than godaddy (godaddy prices are +ICANN fee), and a friend of mine is happy with them for years!

May as well get it over with, in case there's a chance to say "I told you so..." - been using GoDaddy for at least five years now; maybe seven. Not one hint of a shred of a problem. I've never tried to transfer a domain away (never had a reason to) so that might make a difference; I dunno.

I'm probably a little bit more loyal than is justified, 'cause their offices are just a couple of miles up the road. Stu, you want I should go kick some ass for ya? ;)

(I've also never had any particular problem with Windows. Macs, on the other hand...don't get me started...)

Sounds like those drunks at the bar :) You know the ones that drink so much they either pass out, fall down or throw up. The ones that insist on driving home and usually do unless someone steals thier keys.

I've been doing this for years and never had any problems. |dizzy|

Denial is such a happy place :D

NameCheap.com is one of the best in my honest opinion. I have only once had a problem with them where I had to pay $200 to reactivate my account but that got nicely cleared so that I only paid $20 after a email conversation.

If you've got 200+ domains, you should be using a professional registrar rather than an expensive retail one like Godaddy.

Registerfly is a nice registrar, I've transferred most of my godaddy domains to them.

But a while back there were rumors that certain big TGP's like The Hun started banning on registrars, Registerfly was one of them... don't know if it's true cuz I submitted a few gals to thehun recently and their blacklistscript told me I wasn't on it... we'll see.

Fonz,
Thanks for the info. I got few domains at Registerfly and others at Godaddy. So far so good with both. But I want to make sure I am not choosing the wrong guys.
TGP's banning on registrars? They are already banning hosts, content, niches, webmasters from certain countries, sponsors and now registrars too! I wonder what other info they could use to ban fellow webmasters.
