Having said that . . . conventional billing methods are no gurantee of a person's age. Kids can have credit cards. Likewise, in the case of conventional dialers, kids can have phone lines in their room. In all honesty, if a kid wants to check out a porn site (legally, as opposed to using hacked list...which is probably the norm for kids), they will find a way to do so. IMO your conscience should be clear if you state clearly that your site is intended only for adults. You can do nothing more in reality...

True true... I suppose if we make warning pages etc etc as long as we are seen to be doing something then we should be ok. Might be time to look at implement SMS billing as i think it could work quite well especially with the anonymous access it provides.

Mobile porn is HUGE in Europe, as Europe is a year or two ahead of the US with mobile technology u Americans can expect this to be just as big as Europe in 12 months or so, the one draw back with this stuff in the US is the splintered billing plaforms, none of the phone companies want to work togther to provide a cross network billing platform.

As for SMS solutions, in Englad at least there is some Adult vericication going on, Vodaphone for instance has just verified 80% of its user base here as adult.

SMS billing is an excellent addition to any billing platform for sites, again not so much for the states yet but definately for any european traffic.

We are just testing a £5.00 weekly recurring billing option which looks very promising (US$40 per month)

I figured the only way to fully understand this mobile sms thing was to buy a phone that had all the functions, so I broke with my usual routine of not replaceing things that still work and bought a new cammera phone now I have a half inch of very fine text to read
and am surprised at how far the phones have come in the 3 years that I have had my old one

Should be interesting to see how this works out.

The miniature version of the TV show "24" lasts just 60 seconds, and it unfolds on a two-inch cell phone screen.

The "mobisode" (short for mobile episode), adapted from the Fox series, makes its debut Tuesday as part of a new push by Verizon Wireless Communications Inc. to sell mobile-phone video service to subscribers for a fee of $15 a month.
