To post or not to post...
Put it this way, some traffic converts well and retains well and makes profit at some paysites. Some other peoples traffic converts like shit, retains like shit and causes lost profit at the same paysites. Take the tour, view the members area, and pre-sell what you know is there. Best possible way to promote a site. Some people seem to 'get it', some seem to think that no matter how you get a click to a sponsor, if they join a trial, it's "their fault" if it doesnt make money. Pure baloney. |

I agree, and this is one reason I use info from the tour to pre-sell, so I'm not promising anything the tour isn't. I think in this case this particular program doesn't do well with my traffic so I think it's time to move on. If the performance that was outlined to me is the actual performance (and I have no reason to believe it isnt) then revshare just doesn't make sense and it's a waste of traffic for me. I even had two signups out of ten demand refunds on their TRIALS. Since I've never had this kind of issues before I just chalk it up to "shit happens" :). |
Yes but you are talking about conversions. That is different to member retention. The situation here is that the WM sent them clicks, and the clicks converted. But after a month or so the surfer decided "This site is not worth my money" and went elsewhere. This has nothing to do with how good/bad the webmaster who sent the click is, but how good/bad the website that the surfer signed up on is.
I do not consider myself a genius, but I keep surfers on average over 6 months. At that rate PPS is a lot better for me (I would pay less to the person who sent me the surfer) than revshare. In niches that I do not have sites, I send surfers to other sponsors, and I expect that site to be at least nearly as good as mine. If someone signs up with my sponsor I want them to stay (on average) at least five months, which I believe is the industry average (may not still be, it is a long time since I saw the stats). If they stay at least 4 months I am happy, but if the average is less than 3 months, it is bye bye sponsor. This has nothing to do with the quality of traffic that I send, or the conversion rate, simply on how good the site is. |

I would guess I have the same problem (WMs over promising) but I have no problem keeping members. As I said, I am no genius, so if I can do it, everyone else should be able to do so too.

Yup, that's why I always advise everyone to promise nothing more than the tour promises. That way, if anyone ever accuses you of over-selling you can toss it right back in their lap :D
