Remember, google doesn't list it all. It just lists what they consider to be pertinent to the search term. Besides which, they host thumbs (and create thumbs, which makes them a secondary producer, as they are indeed manipulating the images) on their own servers.

I won't go any further on this. For totally technical reasons, I understand why google if different from a thumb TGP. However, I understand your point of view and this is why there is a thing called court, because the line is very fine.

not sure how that will work or if its legal

Fred - it depends on how they do it - if they have everything available for D/L for us then its perfectly legal as they are just providing us the docs to copy to our record-keeping system - if they expect that we would just link to their system than in definitely is not legal.
