thats interesting, your traffic is gold Tommy, so 200.00 is well worth it. but I'd definately say watch out for over-saturation, would suck to all of sudden rarely get listed =p
|
Your traffic is way to good to be only charging a one time $50 fee, I would raise the price if I was you, hell even $250 would still be cheap
Just my 2 cents ;) |
Tommy, what you could do as well is decrease the number of daily submits from each WM from 5/day to 2 or 3
This will give more WM's a chance to get listed |
Now's the time to get your's as Tommy. Dunno why, but I have a gut feeling submit passes sold a hell of a lot better these last couple of days.
I was all setup and emailed tommy about an account. Then I come on ggj and see this thread. I was like "fuck, now this guy's gonna think i'm such a looser for asking for a pass just after he posted a thread about raising the price". happily enough he didn't seem to mind. all went out smooth. Managed to send the money today too - I bet later in the afternoon his epass account is gonna get locked for the day again. Tommy, have you thought about a "reffered/recomended by" system? |
I'll admit, I mailed my check yesterday too. I realized $50 really isn't that much. Neither is $200 but I'm a cheap fuck.
|
Tommy, is the submit limit really 5 per day? THATS AWESOME!

Maybe $200 or more sounds good for someone that makes 2-3k or more per month. But for new webmasters is way expensive... |

Jesus, when most of us started out we had to buy our own hosting, pay about $3 per pics, build our sites per hand, submit by hand, resize pics by hand etc...etc.. only to promote someone elses sites - there where no free -hosting, -content, -tools etc..etc.. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining that we have to give out these things - we still make money and that's just how the buz has become, but I'm complaining when people can't make a small investment themself and especially in this case where the profit is VERY likely to come in a few months. If you can't make more than $200 a year by submitting 5 gals a day to a site like Tommys...find yourself another job. This is a BUSINESS not a hobby! |
adding a thing, after discussing this with my submitters....
Of course increasing the price must mean that people will get listed if they live up to the rules you have Tommy, but I guess thats the whole point in raising the price - getting less, but better submissions??? I can understand from my submitters that it's only a chance to get your site reviewed, not a guarentee to be listed - one of them (tgp/mgp) get a decent amount of traffic which is well worth $200 a year, while the other one submitting freeistes find it a bit more difficult to be listed. |
Hi Tommy,
If I was in your shoes I would change the whole module you have their in place for people set up accounts. You should look to charge a recurring revenue of say around $35 each month. I did the maths if you do five new accounts per day @ $35 you can add enough revenue to your business to over come the real issue, you wanting to continue to provide a 1st class service. From a webmaster point of view I would be saying exactly what you quote on your partners page - Before you say 'fuck him...'. However $35 is a fair price per month for regular traffic and very good chance to see a return on your investment - therefore this becomesa no brainer for the webmaster. The revenues you make you can then expand your team to help maintain the servie level you strive to offer. The type of payments you will be processing are non adult - the banks see them as B2B - so the costs will be low too as you will easily get an MID (merchant Account). |

I think tommy's goal is to get rid of the cheaters and not to make a recurring income from fellow webmasters! ;)

I don't disagree - just reading everything on his site and his first post this was what I feel would work for him :-) |
I want one :) Question though - as it is a lifetime pass, etc can we update the list of domains we use at any point?
|
yes Sarah you can.
AdultCEO that is exactly right :-) anyway I raised the price to one hundred dollars this morning I figure I can try it like that for a week or 2 and see what happens I can always raise it again if it doesnt slow down and I think that sort of avoids sticker shock, I dont look like I am being greedy |
you get that pm tommy? i tried u from gmail... nothing yet? holla back!
.. |
I think 200 is a ok price, especially if its life time, another choice would be 100 bucks a year or something.
how will this affect me as a webmaster that already has your life-time pass? Should we pay an extra 50 bucks or something to comply with the 100? I have no prob with it, nice quality traffic |thumb |
very nice quality traffic |thumb

"back in the day..."
Yeah, a little over a year ago I used to submit to you Tommy, the traffic was awesome & most definitely worth the investment, when I'm done my traffic hub site & back into making freesites etc to be submitting, I will definitely be keeping you in mind, you're worth the investment, easily :) I do agree with the other suggestion made though, of reducing the limit to 1 or 2 per day, instead of 5.. |
