Um yea, I'm sure most people would have gotten the Anonymous reference...not. Doesn't really matter at this point though...male or female...your reputation in this industry has taken a significant hit through your own doing |crazy|

As to the program...aw fuck it...I got better things to do than waste any further energy on this crap. Fortunately, it would appear that most of my peers on this board are smart enough to see through it.

Oh...surprise surprise...frozen assets...duh.

Translation without the use of BabelFish..

The hole thing has fallen over and no one is gonna get paid

I believe that was predicted in the very first page/thread

I want to laugh, but I guess that would be impolite and be right up there with "neener-neener" and "I told you so".

The shock and awe of it has my heart going pitty pat :D

MrYum 2006-02-03 09:24 PM

Yea, as much as I don't want to think about a MAN letting his daughter dumpster dive again...I sincerely hope he doesn't see a dime of that $16k.

However, I wouldn't mind at all hearing about MR ANN in vile refuse up to his knees scrounging for dinner :D

suddenlysex 2006-02-03 09:39 PM

Looks like it's back to dumpster diving for your daughter then?

Wazza 2006-02-04 07:05 PM

I can see an apple on a table and say "that's an apple on a table"

I can see a program that pays 12% per day for viewing a few websites and say "that's a ponzi scheme"

No libel, no slander, just calling an apple an apple...

And I still say you should be ashamed of yourself - attempting to lure people into this shabby scam. You've got a fucking hide, you truly do!

Linkster 2006-02-05 07:10 AM

The reason that the program is frozen is that ABC did a series of shows on this program and a few others that Stormpay was involved with noting that they were all ponzi schemes and the FBI is involved tracking down all people that were running it and involved with making money on it - although from what ABC has just put out in the lst day or so it was just three people running a scheme and since it was done outside the normal banking processes that normally back a business like this for "loans" it has been shutdown. I wouldnt expect to see any money back from them for a long time (if ever)

Ann Omness 2006-02-05 03:37 PM

Thanks Linkster. I wish I'd seen the programs. I just did a search at ABC News and found no reference to Stormpay. I question whether ABC's report was accurate, though, because none of the companies who had their accounts frozen have been contacted yet by any authorities. With hundreds of millions of dollars frozen, they would have been at the doors of the companies within hours after freezing their accounts. I don't think there really is any sort of official investigation going on. I think Stormpay found itself in trouble when the program I'm in requested a transfer of a quarter of their money to their bank, and Stormpay didn't have enough reserves to cover it. All of Stormpay's allegations and actions since then have been panic.

"Here's Storm Pay's explanation:

"Investigations by both Storm Pay and other outside investigational organizations and law enforcement agencies have drawn early conclusions that these types of programs are nothing more than well hidden ponzi or pyramid schemes."

huh.... whodathunkit?

WHAAAAT??? |shocking|

Very weak Mr Ann...you really should be ashamed of yourself for trying to drag fellow webmasters into that sham. But then again, you're a father who let his daughter dumpster dive...guess attempting to screw webmasters was an easy transition |dizzy|

What may be more disturbing is the fact that some 12 Daily Pro members have actually told ABC4 News they "don't care" where the money comes from.
Sounds like they spoke to Mr Ann.

Ahh yes, the fat lady does have a beautiful voice :D

I've stayed out of this because of the drama. But I have to say to Ann Onmess that I stopped submitting to your link list after reading half of the first page of the first thread you wrote on this. Now, I'm just a small fry and my free sites may not mean much but all I could think is "Damn, no one is going to want to have thier recip on the same page as hers/his." So, I pulled you right out of my submission routine. I have to wonder why you didn't consider how this would affect your working relationships with people on the board here. How many people won't work with you now?

Oh well, I'll crawl back into thread reading mode now. Don't want to keep beating the dead horse.

LOL

"By the account of both supporters and detractors, 12DailyPro is multimillion dollar internet auto-surf company with well over 300,000 members worldwide. And now it's administrator, Charis Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina is asking for more money -- a donation, not an "investment". She is collecting funds from those who remain loyal to her and the company for a "legal defense fund". As of Sunday night, Johnson says she's collected enough to cover "34%" of the retainer required by her lawyers."

Wonder if Mr Ann is planning on sending part of his earnings to help them out?

Ramster 2006-02-07 02:46 PM

odysseus, I'm with you. I too lost all respect.

docholly 2006-02-07 03:15 PM

|shocking| dammit!! I needed a new get rich quick scheme where I didn't have to do anything but log on and let my computer auto-surf.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A dumpster diving auto surfer, Dad. Just like you. |dizzy|

LowryBigwood 2006-02-07 03:16 PM

Damn. Crazy shit. Welp... It's not a big surprise to me either. I don't know Ann personally, but I am amazed that this thread was even started to begin with.

Note To Self - Don't try to recruit GG&Jim members into a pyramid scheme. :)

Ann Omness 2006-02-07 03:33 PM

Swedguy, Torn: The information Stormpay gave to ABC News, and the spin ABC put on it, is not accurate. 12 Daily suspended operations entirely because Stormpay seized their funds. Stormpay claims it is the result of an investigation done by their bank. I called Stormpay's bank yesterday and talked to a vice president there. She said the bank is not aware of any investigation into 12 Daily, that the freeze on their funds was entirely an action of Stormpay. No government investigators have contacted 12 Daily, a whole week after their accounts were frozen. Nothing that Stormpay is claiming is turning out to be true. I think it's all a smokescreen to cover the fact that they didn't have enough funds in their account to cover a big withdrawal.
