Going to buy the wood to build my desk today. Finally feeling great after the migrane the other day, so want to get it built, and get back in my room. I'm tired of working in the living room and having my cat constantly wanting attention.

It is 53, calling for a high of 60 and overcast, so good day to stay inside and get my office built.

Got a bit of a late start today, but the caffeine is finally starting to kick in.

Today's project is hacking back the semi-jungle that's taken over most of the yard since last Fall. Damn does stuff grow fast here. Roomie is going to stop while out running errands and hire a two or three temp workers named Jose with the same SSN. ;)

Had discussions with three different sponsors yesterday about asshats using their content. Don't any of these theives have a clue about copyright? or maybe they just don't care.

lol. Can't chop down a tree, you have to wait too long for the wood to dry or you have green sappy wood.

I'm building a custom desk along 2 walls, and I have no idea where to buy an 8' x 2' desk, so we are building it. It will just be square on one wall, but the other it goes from 16" deep flares out to 22", then back to 16" and is about 10' long. I worked as a handy woman for years, did a lot of construction stuff, so I love to do things like this.

MadHatter actually used to build custom furniture out of slabs of burl wood, I'd love to do that again, that stuff is cool.

Do you also make your own shoes?

Nope, never figured out how to push needles through leather, lol.

Fuck shopping at our local malls. :(

Tried to buy a pair of shoe stretches. Two malls later I finally ended up ordering online.

Then for almost a week I've been trying to buy a pair of Versace sunglasses from the local Sunglass Hut. They had them in ever color combo except the ones that I wanted so I also ordered them online for almost a hundred bucks less then what they are local.

It's to the point where doing things in the real world is just more trouble then what it's worth.

Cleo, the real world only works when you need to fix your car or burn down your fence. Otherwise do it online.

It's cold here. Yesterday was quite warm but today it feels a bit cooler. There's only a few patches of snow on the ground in the woods but other than that I'm waiting for the green to sprout.

Cleo / Alex - That's something I was forced to learn when we moved to Key West about 10 years ago. And back then you really had to search around to find what you wanted/needed. But we didn't have much choice. If you didn't want an expensive meal, an over-priced and watered-down drink, or a $100 t-shirt, there's not much you can get in KW.

Since then I've moved to two of the other Keys islands with even less that you can buy locally. Aside from the grocery store, the gas station, and the mechanic's shop, there's not much I don't get online now.

Except seafood. That's one thing I can and do get locally.
And it's definitely better than anything I can get online.

I agree with buying online, our shopping is limited here too, and what we can't get locally, its a 120 mile + round trip into Vegas where I have to fight traffic. The more I live in my small town, the less I like driving in insane Vegas traffic.

I try to either stock up when we have to go in for the maintenance on our SUV, or just buy everything we can't get here online.

there is traffic in Vegas? Gee I never noticed it.. :D

Isn't your SUV due for service soon?? we could plan lunch around your 'schlep' into sim city.

RedCherry, you need to make a deal with the limos from the brothels to give you rides into vegas to shop... figure they are going that way anyway, right?

Its Saturday for me and I am not usually on my pc but I am trying sort out a deal with a sponsor (Jel if your around I could do with a good word put in for me :D ) Also am downloading the only 2 decent bi movies I could find to buy.
Soon I am off to be a soccer mom / team manager. I actually have to talk to people eeek and have responsabilities double eek!
And tonight we have friends coming over, I think they want to swing with us so I am glad there will be kids around and they won't get to try it lol! Not that I am against swinging but they are inlaws of sorts and that would get messy. (ps yeah yeah this post needs pics)
