One of the best ones used to be
Janes Guide but I think she dropped to a PR6 recently.

Also AVN is now PR6.

The mighty Tommys-Bookmarks, Greenguy and DangerDave only ever seem to maintain PR6. When in reality they should be higher.

I'd love to see an adult PR7. But I presume it's not possible???

I have one domain which just hit the deck PR0 |skull| , but strangely has found reasonable traffic from Yahoo! instead. Not to mention that if your site is worth returning to, you can get bookmarkers.

Which goes to prove that there is life after PR.

asacp is one that I can think of thats a 7 under the adult directory...for good reason :)

All the others that used to be 8's (there was an adult humor blog that you could get listed in pretty easily) have lost 2 PR points in the last 6 months.
AVN kinda surprised me but they recently did a face lift so maybe they havent re-optimized very much :) they dropped all of the link exchanges they had and have started over, which probably affected them the most

Urb...Ive seen Yahoo experimenting with Inktomi results instead of Google a couple of times....nice boost too :) hopefully a shot of things to come...

Urb, I too have 0 and unranked domains that get decent yahoo traffic.. often they have been picked up on one Googlebot run , and then dropped on the next.. but they still appear in their mirrors... Yahoo, AOL,etc.

DD: Not only is Google not the only search engine out there, but as Yahoo moved away from Google results, their power will drop... and all things will change again.

There really is alot of shakeup on the horizon, with the MSN bot hard at work, Yahoo switching to Inktomi, and altavista actually seeing some traffic again.

Anyone else miss the days of Excite and Infoseek? :-)


On PR, I think that Jane's might have lost some "newer links" because of the charge for review process they have been using. I rarely see a new site submitted anymore with a Jane's link on it, and for the most part, it appears to be more non-commercial personality stroking labour of love sites, most of which I don't list because they just don't match up to what I am looking for. Just as importantly, alot of freehosted and "marginal" hosted sites have dropped in the last 6 - 12 months, and many of those are those exact "personality" sites that Jane's seems to enjoy listing. As they drop, they lose backlinks and in the long run, lose PR.

Anyway, back to making generic, money making porn sites. :-)

PR 8 mostly because of link exchanges with alot of PR6 and PR7 sites... which should make the site an "authority" site, which gives it a higher PR. It is the same PR as foxnews.com, as an example!

PR8 for an adult site is rare, and there probably isn't more than a couple.

This site is rare also that it has fairly high traffic as well, unlike alot of high PR / low traffic sites out there.

89.com just another 7 - goes to show a data feed of DMOZ and ATW does well...of course the sponsor status at Google probably doesnt hurt (Adwords)
