No I'm not spamming ALL the link list owners...I just contacted a random sample 10 of which you were one. Why is that so offensive? You can post that email if you feel it exposes me as a spammer...that's not what it was...it's was a personal introduction and invite. Is that off limits and super offensive?

spam = unsolicited email

You also obviously made a mistake because you sent it an email addy that is not the one I use here or the one I use on the link list - so I would say there is probably more of them floating around out there

And yes - any commercial unwanted email is "super-offensive"

Okay...message received. FYI, email came from whois. If you're last part about more of them floating around there is to indicate that I'm lying about a random sampling of 10, then you're wrong. I'm not trying to pick a fight with you. This isn't Melrose place. I guess I have to figure out how to network with linklist owners without contacting them.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why some of the more experienced link list owners are so apprehensive about an effort to compile a repository for link lists that are actually still active and actively accepting submissions. I just want an easier way to find places to submit to....all apologies for that unwanted email.

I already stated one reason for not wanting your service used on submits to me - and Im sure it applies to many other LLs as well - one of our rules is that all of the content has to be on the same domain as the free site - which means no hotlinking which is included in your service - there are very good reasons for that - the primary one related to your service is that if your service goes down, everyone using your recips now has free sites on hundreds of LLs with red x's instead of recips.

More importantly - if you were going to contact some LLs to "offer your service" dont you think that maybe that you might want to check their submit rules and make sure they accept all submitters - mine - and a few others are partner only - so you wouldnt really be providing much of a benefit for any submitters that add a recip from those sites

The third - and final reason - is that there have been at least 5 different "services" that did exactly what you are doing for free over the last 7 years that I remember right off the top of my head - and every one of them shut down a year later - which led to many LL owners having to go in and manually review every free site again to remove the sites with red x's

The hot-linking thing was resolved... thanks for your additional feedback...

Even though I wonder if I dare bring this issue back up because I got killed so bad last time!! =) but I've made a few changes and invite anyone interested to check out my online recip table maker www.quickrecip.com. Again, I originally made it with the intention of finding the active linklists that were currently taking submissions and some how that got lost in everything...I've added reciprocal links from several top sites, (currently 1901 recips) mostly the ones I submit to and have been accepted by...there is no requirement to register if you just want to build a recip table, click here: http://www.quickrecip.com/?q=BuildRecip and you'll see the output...it's painless and free...let me know if you have any questions or comments...
