Still, a blog can make things easy. You might want to find a host who can set the whole thing up for you, database and all, so the only things you need to do is decide how to make it look nice.

Another alternative is to signup for one of the free adult blogging services and just start up a separate blog site as an experiment, to get an idea of how the whole thing works. You could try Thumblogger, Sensual Writer, Smut.com blogs by ARS... can't think of others off the top of my head. Don't make it your main site, do it as a throwaway thing so if the service does go bellyup as mentioned above, it won't really matter.

I did this search on the board for blog hosts to add a few more into the mix

I remember coming across that site when I first started months ago after doing a Google search. Also, another resource that I used when getting started was Cozy Academy or Cozy Frog. But as many people know you can learn a lot also by doing searches on this board and asking questions.

As far as learning CSS this is something I should of kicked my own ass for not trying to learn earlier. Once you have good grasp of html it's not that hard to learn. And if you built that site Wild Honey it looks like their is already some CSS on it so your already a step ahead.

Clean Sites

Ok. Sooooo, I've been trying to learn CSS. Trying to clean things up a bit. Even learning templates, since the majority of the site are scenes. May I get a bit 'o feedback on the two links posted, please. (Not the entire site, thank you, been there, got that *S* Tomorrow, tables!!)

With wordpress, once installed (on your own server), you don't have to know html, web pages or CSS. While it certainly helps to know the basics, at least WP can get you going and making some money. I am guessing that is your main goal, to make some cash, you've mentioned it a few times.

With WP you can focus on publishing your content and creating income, not struggling to learn web stuff. You can always do that later or over time.

Thanks, Gramma. I think it looks a lot cleaner, myself. *S*

As for WP, thruthfully, I'm not ready. My other half is a blogger and he's had much success with it. However, I like the advice, of the one person, who said, let my site be the Hub. The Hub it shall be. The cash would be nice but has never been my main goal with this site. The main goal is cum, lots and lots of sticky cum, LOL (sorry, ya have to know me to know how deliciously funny that is to me, lol).

Eventually, I will do more things and even WP, I think, from what I've been reading. I mean, heck, I'm involved in Adult Chat near every single day of my life, might as well make some money at it.

Thanks for the in-put.

Here's my 2 cents worth of a tip -

Do whatever you want with the site, oriented at surfers. Add stories, build up a large collection over time (preferably sorted by categories). Use the chat rooms to build up a following. Consider having an interactive page on the site, where visitors can leave comments - maybe even a board (on your own domain and hosting - so you won't lose it again). A blog, down the road, could be a great section that allows for some user interaction.

Whatever you do - add a page to the site that says "recommended porn sites". Write up a blurb about how sometimes people need more than just stories, sometimes they need visuals, and say that you've taken the time to research these sites and you can recommend them. Then build up a list of sites, organized by niches, and offer your surfers links to no-pop-ups, no tricks, kind of tours for good sites. To avoid sign-ups scattered among too many sponsors (most of them have high minimum payouts), I would use CCBill sponsors only, to begin with. Just use a text link (with your affiliate code embedded) and a line or two of description, for each paysite that you're recommending.

I've have a similar site that originally had no nasty pictures on it. It had a mix of erotic stories and original articles about sex. The idea was "we respect you, the surfer, and provide quality adult entertainment". I also had a page of recommended porn sites (in a similar format to the above) and it had great conversion ratios (meaning it got sales to the porn sites, for which I got money).

I liked your site. It needs a bit of work but the concept is good. I know a little bit about story sites. Mail me, I already like you enuf ( intentional misspelling :) that I will provide some "support" even if the concept is a bit of a misnomer. :)

Okayyyyyyyyy, been reading, talking, looking, moving, nudging, deleting, adding, and...*pant* *pant*, how do you think it is coming along, now? (This, the HUB, for more).

*I* like it. I just added it to my hub page - The Entrance Page No guarantee on hits, but.. it is still a link. This is the page all of my freesites link back to, and oddly enough, it does see some decent traffic.

Nice job!

Thank you *S* Hmmm, should I limk back? Create a links page?
