Maybe, as the economy increases in suckiness, the situation will reverse. Instead of spending porn money at the pump, maybe people will simply stop going anywhere and instead stay at home abusing the fuse, causing profits in the porn industry to explode. This golden age will end when wind power recharges the economy and people are once again able to leave the house on their electric mopeds. The mind boggles...

Agreed, Its a combination of things.

our biggest problem is the free tube sites with the big movies.

my sales have been going up lately. had my best month in july, before the decline in gas prices.

I think it's not as much related to the current economic situation (gas prices are high in every part of the world), but more the total abundance of freely and easily obtainable high quality porn.

If you get in on some private torrent trackers, there's such a stupendous amount of hi-def movies available it's enough to supply 5 paysites with content for a lifetime.
A lot of students (who are a semi-decent sized part of the market) are turning to that instead of whipping out the plastic.

As said though, if you have a niche that's not "mainstream", you'll still see good signups, but stuff like teen is on a decline as far as I can tell.

In the end of the day, the torrent sites could kill the industry. I guess by then they'll have enough movies running there that there won't be a need for any new productions. All porn movies will be free and porn production companies will be a thing of the past.

Sorry to be all doom and gloom, but unless producers and big distributors (i.e. sponsors) don't take some of these torrent and tube sites to court for copyright violation, I just don't see how we can avoid this.

To be totally honest here, I am shocked that I am still converting around 1:1,000. I expected much worse. Let's hope it stays.
