I love epassporte, use it all the time with no problems.

The $30 fee isn't all that great, but with the way we receive payments from lots of companies it is much more convenient than waiting for wires or dealing with checks, and better than using paypal which isn't ok for adult stuff anyways now.

I pray they never go away.

My comments in that thread remain the same - that "rewriting history" is what rang my bell.

Maybe Gonzo can stop back & fill us all in, seeing as I don't get out enough to know what's really going on :D

I think this sums it up.

"There were 7 people in that movie & the only one I know is Sweet T. Who are these people!?!?!?

Where's Fantasy Man? RB? Webfather? Serge? Lensman? PK? Jim? I'm serious. I've been here since 96, so it's not like I just got here & I'm scratching my head as to who these "early days of the online adult entertainment industry" could be."

Hell where is GreenGuy or Richard for that matter.
Some people will run around and tell you they invented or origninated everything on the net in this biz from AVS to popups.

Ocassionally Robin Nixon argues with Timon on that fact.

Only to get a message that bank doesn't allow it, hahahah.

So, for the moment, I've given up on the idea of using it that way. Anybody try the "load to credit card" and have it work?

I've yet to try withdrawing from an atm with that 'electron' card - but thats next on the agenda. I got the damn thing, might as well see if it works.

I think epassporte works well enough - just a bit finicky.

Actually, I had a similar problem, they used to accept Mastercard, but I didn't load money too often so didn't notice it. Then tried my visa and my bank didn't want to play nice....so I kind of was frustrated with the load money feature.

However, I absolutely needed to load it one night to buy a domain from someone and I hate asking for paypal/epass transfers. So, I got one of those, umm, visa cards you can load up with $ and used that. Still it was annoying as fuck.

On the whole though I don't mind epass, it's a little quirky, but it's not like there's a lot of choices.

I haven't got around to actually getting any yet. There are Payoneer(MC) & RevUpCard(MC).

As far as ePass it doesn't work anywhere online that I want to spend money, and it's only good for ATM use here.

Are you using your virtual account? A friend couldn't buy domains with it and they were using the number on the plastic and not the virtual account. I've actually only had one or two places cough up a fit about epass online. Basically I've used it to buy domains, amazon, etc, etc, and haven't had an issue with it there. Hey, I've even paid for pizza with it, lol.

Recently, I applied for a business account. It took 2 weeks for them to send me the application paperwork (even though their website says I should receive this within a day or two)

Then it took them a week or two to review it.

Then, my application was declined and they will not tell me why.

Otherwise, I've never really had a major problem and no other complaints... just a little irritated.

FedEx, Enom, and a bunch of other places. A few places may have been because they changed my virtual CSV, and didn't tell me about. I basically just gave up, and use my MC/Amex/Visa.

Here in the great white north the Electron card seems to work only on bank ATMs for withdrawing money. Not on credit union ATMs, cash dispensers, stores, gas, bars, restaurants, etc. And they all take bank debit cards, and my MC debit card.

My own issue is still at an impasse. No response from customer service, no indication that a trouble ticket is even open (certainly no reference number is provided or anything marginally professional like that) and their phone support has 9 options, all of which lead to a phone that rings three times and then disconnects. Presumably they are all set to go to the phone equivalent of the bit bucket.

It works ok for me -- I use the electron card to draw money from a bank ATM and it is ok. Just as long as one doesn't have to use "customer support" you are ok.

I try to keep the balance to the minimum though as I suppose one day they are going to go belly up.

mrfrisky 2008-11-19 05:42 AM

Untill now no probs at all except for not being able to pay with virtual on the internet pokertables.

I have about 4-5k on the account almost everyday.

Dunno which i should be using when not epass.

faxxaff 2008-11-22 01:04 PM

I have always bitched about epass in the past, but once I sent them verification documents their service is really efficient for me. Since there is no legal guarantee that funds held with epass are safe during the present financial turmoil I decided to withdraw all my funds. To my pleasant surprise I received a wire within 2 days after I uploaded all docs. Heads up from me :-)

ritto 2008-12-04 05:58 AM

One of my sponsors quit paying by ccbill and offered me an epass and atm card instead. I said okay.

A week later I get my card in the post and an email to say its been loaded with a few hundred $.

Straight to the ATM machine and withrew the lot. No problem, no charge, easy.

As soon as I get an email to say a payment has been made (to the card), I go and withdraw it. The ATM machine is outside the supermarket, couldnt be easier or more convenient :-)

When buying stuff online I'll use my other credit cards I know and can trust. I only consider the epass as a way of being paid relatively small amounts from sponsors. If I were to wait for a check in the post, its costs me about $10 to convert it into british pounds, so again the epass ATM card is a winner for me.

James_HotMovies 2008-12-04 11:29 AM

I'm probably not your average epass user, but I've been happy with it.

I wire in 50k a month with a $20 fee - not great, but not horrible.
I pay affiliates with $2.00 fee per affiliate - think this could be lower, but not horrible

on the receiving end I have 5 or 6 sponsors pay me via epassporte.
I use the physical debit card to take out money at the ATM.
I normally take out the $500 limit to avoid extra fees.
(ATM fees from the ATM Bank, Epass fees)

It never ceases to amaze me how many people make money off our hard work.

Every time I see one of the billing companies sponsoring large parties I wonder how much of my money went into it.

I haven't seen anything of yours but aren't sponsors that use domains on banners and content (amongst many other tricks) doing exactly the same? |huh

US epassporte user and it works fine for me. I tried transferring funds once or twice and those took far too long. The Electron card is expensive but I use it on a regular basis at ATMs or payments.

officegirl 2009-01-09 09:12 AM

no problems for me with epassporte, i use the electron car dand it works fine, i'll pay the $35 for just the ease of getting my money when i am in the USA
