The ads just plain don't make any sense when trying to build a community based site. The draw, the stickiness, of such a site is the community, the membership base. Think of them as the equivalent of the galleries on a TGP, only interactive.

Until you've established a large enough membership base, sending traffic off to sponsor links is like shooting yourself in the foot.

Sit down and write up a detailed business plan. Making it up as you go is going to leave you running in circles going nowhere. The days of "build it and they will come" are long ago gone.

Just check your own site for their spiders- I don't understand what their motivation is especially with starting a thread like this???? Makes no sense to me.

Thanks for the input Toby and Jester...at the very least I think I will reduce the size of the banners so they aren't intrusive. Okay, bed time!

While I don't know how you came to the that conclusion, it does look like the owner of AdultsOnlyList.com is a message board spammer, spreading some nonsense about creating a Craig's List for adult services. Many of the pages I've found are already 404'd, probably due to them being filtered as spam.
