Ouzu is disgusting really ... but then I only really like cold beer ...
Did ya survive the storm without having too much stuff trashed? Noticed the Danish media referring to it as an "Atmospherical bomb" (with their usual sense of proportion)

I prefer Whiskey, dogs and rain.

Actually I'm lying about the rain.

Yeah, survived the storm, but when I tried to get a train to North London, nothing was travelling more that four stops northwards. Trees fallen on the track I guess.

Our media was a little "overstated" about the storm too. Yesterday they all but inferred that we would all die and England would sink into the sea!

We get Sky News(trashy journalism) and BBC News via satellite. Sky portrays the English as not being able to handle a puff of wind, a drop of rain or a snowflake without the country comming to a halt. I laughed at one reporter on a beach complaining about the high winds, and not a hair on his head was being blown out of place!

It is good to see some English are made of sterner stuff! |hurricane

That is what we call "the British stiff upper lip".

I can remember, as a child on holiday, sitting on the beach with a portable windbreak set up to stop the wind. It started to rain - did we go back home? No, my parents set up two deck chairs either side of us, put the windbreak across the top to create a frontless and backless tent, then sat on the beach enjoying ourselves in the rain. That, my friend, is "the British stiff upper lip"!
