I scan through almost every newsletter.. but i am a bit like Kezza in I dont think it has enough news right now to justify multi weekly sends... That might be becasue I am not into the sport that has been at the top of most of them lately though.
I wouldnt mind it daily if it was worth opening.. for me that would be a mainly text email that just summarised the main active threads happening... any sponsor program changes like new sites and payout deals.. and linked to details of any important industry news that had happened over the previous 24 hours.. kind of like what luke ford did with gfy. I would love it if someone did that sort of daily wrap of the 2 or 3 boards I am interested in.. |
One time a week seems good to me.

I know you meant to say "If spooky has winning email text" Twice a week is good I think. and you can have a "special" newsletter in case really big news comes out. |waves

Wow I really am a Mac head… |
I think once a week is good though I'd like to see the top 10 threads linked with a quick description of what it's about.
I usually don't have time to read the boards but I do like to keep up with what's hot and what's not. |
I picked 3 Days a week because like adamneve I also like the tips and the main board topics that you give. Although I am not a poster I do read the boards alot and use what I get from it as well as the newsletter. I check my email everyday so it wouldnt be like its spam or anything where there all piled up. So keepum coming I say. |headbang|

It depends what is in it. I voted 3 times a week, but that is for e-mails with useful information, i.e. the ones where "Jim's Tips and Tricks" contains useful information. For example the one that asked us to vote in this poll contained nothing "useful", although it was necessary. However if it had contained something in the "Jim's Tips and Tricks" section that was a tip, as well as the "request to vote" it would have been OK.

I voted for 2 times a week..
|
I only seem to get less than half of the newsletters for some strange reason. My isp claims that they are not using any filters on the smtp servers, so I'm clueless here! :)
|
I too (like jvastine) only receive about half of the newsletters. I have cable isp thru Charter.net and they say "no filters" also.
Any ideas? Anyone? |noclue
We never have problems sending newsletters. If you don't get them, it has got to be on your end.
We have decided to go with 2/week instead of 3. Of course if something important comes up, we will be sending out a special edition. I am going to close the poll. |
Jim
As many times as you have changed you mind on when to do the news letter over that past year I'm sure this won't be the last change. :D |
Once a week sounds good to me :-)
|
Frequency of newsletters
How about once a week? Perhaps every Monday. It seems that webmasters (and everyone else on the internet) have to wade through a mess of e-mail everyday, be it spam, newsletters, or anything else. Once a week should keep it down to a very managable level, and keep GGAJ in peoples minds while not overloading those poor minds with frustration!!
|
You guys did read that we decided on twice/week, right? :)
|
Sponsors want 3
Webmasters want 1 We'll do 2 :D |

RE "Sounds like a happy medium"
I thought "a happy medium" was someone who got good news from the dead. Or someone who had just slimmed down from a "large". Sorry. |jester
Can I ask which days you'll be sending them out to?
Tues and Thurs or Mon and Fri? Yahoo has been helpfully been putting it into the bulk mail folder lately, so I need to know when to check. And I probably should put in a new email address LOL |
Sorry, I forgot to mention when they will be going out. I am going to try out Mondays and Fridays for a while. But, you never know...I do like to change it up every now and then.
