We had some great times way back when, we were all brother and Sisters...and we can still see this bond strong today.

Example, they are raising money for Dokk on another board to go to Jamaica this year, and have been successful. It was our old timer community behind this drive and still in 2005 we look after each other even tho sometimes we feel miles apart.

I miss Asia Carerra on the YNOT board...she was something, and Persian Kitty who never got full of herself in her "Hey Day". The print mags wanted to buy her empire and she did not sell out...and she was so dedicated and remained anchored. I remember when she first showed off her Yacht boat...everyone was WOWEE!

Now who knows how she is...and where she is at., she has partners now etc...maybe she is off living the life she gave up to manager her link site for so many years when she first began.

I miss PushRod and Ro, I miss Janey, I miss Jonathan from Naughty Links [he sold off], I miss Mike Fold, I miss JoeE and RB..I remember when they told me they were starting an affiliate program...now look at those empires.

I remember when Marc De was with Breathless Boys and got into a bad situo on YNOT, was kinda run off, and came back a year later with ARS, and look at the empire...

Gawd, I have seen children in this busines grow up before my eyes and be upstanding webmasters, married now with kids!

I still love it when GG won the Viper from CE!!!

Oldtimer huh... not sure of I qualify or not actually :)

I was a lurker in 96 .. part timer in 97 ... went full time in 98

There has been many changes but I will admit that there is still some great folks in the business! That was one of my nicest surprises when starting out... finding all the good folks out there (even if they did hide a bit) compared to my previous "real world" job.

Just talked to them right before Vegas. I felt bad as they said they would have made plans to go if they knew the wife and I were going to be there but there's always next time :) (They are great folks without a doubt!)

There's been good and bad over the years .... after thinking about it a bit ... there's so much that could be commented on I wouldn't even know where to start... nor would I probably have the time to do the proper follow up. I've made good friends... lost a few good friends... learned a lot which includes learning that the "learning" never stops ... hopefully helped others learn a lot and of course I hope that I'll be able to talk about the good old days in another 8 years as well.

I guess the real reason I posted was to say to "the oldtimers" be it posters or lurkers... you folks have helped us all in one way or another even if you didn't realize it .. so for that, we all owe those folks a thank you! People like Lee blazed the path and opened it up for so many to follow. I'm sure the porn world still would be around today without them but without a doubt... it wouldn't have been the same :)

I hope we all get to enjoy another ten years and more ... best wishes of success to you all.

Yep, an SSN or an EIN is a requirement. Can't make any exceptions for that one or the IRS will get us.

We actually do a quick background investigation on all affiliates before we approve them now. You would be amazed at how much fraud that has cut down on.

Get out!!! What do you do with the SSN? Not a lot of people know that it is a federal crime to use a SSN for anything other than Social Security business. That law does go mostly ignored. :)

As it turns out,one of the two folks behind this, "Capt. Smut" award button was Quentin Boyer, formerly a Director of Topbucks for the last 5 years, and now VP of Marketing at XBang as of last Dec..

Early 97, I used to give out the James And Victoria Award of Excellence. The award winners didn't get much traffic from me but I did get a whole lot from them. :)

Thanks Lee. It just goes to prove that life didn't end last month when I turned 50 like I was afraid it would. Though a 34 year old fiance' keeps me very young. ;)

I remember in early 1997 putting up my first adult site on the free server space my college gave students to use lol. All of the pictures were basically taken from picposts like PornyPics. Sponsors were paying like 10 cents per click then! So we would use the infamous "Next Page" blind link and would just site there reloading our stats every few minutes watching the money column go up. We made around $700 our very first month and it seemed sort of surreal. There was just so much easy traffic for everyone then that it was actually difficult to not make good money. :)

Eventually the college asked me to take down the site and I had to learn about getting a server and my own domain name, and actually paying for content, which was a big expensive commitment back then! Soon AVS became huge and I did that for many years. AdultCheck and PornoPass put me through college lol. :)

when I came on in 97, I was getting paid mad cash from gamma's click program at $.05 a click, all from picposts.

you dont have to miss picposts, I have one, http://realpicpost.com it isnt as big as um.. slutpost or sexypost were, or even pussyboard, but given time... heh... ok no foolin it will never be as big again, but there are still people new to the internet that like picposts because they dont know they can get more free content elsewhere. They are more likely to buy, but there are less of them....

We don't use the SSN for the background check.

It's just used for 1099 purposes. Just like every US based sponsor is required to do.
