Pretty cool torn i don't think its that ugly different and cool inside. :)
I have been there for a game and i would go back just to see the new stadium plus we had a good time in the city. :D |
New stadiums suck!!!!!
of course I'm only saying that because the Patriots raised my prices again!! when I first bought my seats they were $13.00 per seat per game, you paid for pre season so it was 10 games $260.00 and I could make payments now its $90 per seat per game for $1800.00 (plus "handling" charges of course) the bill comes 3/7 and I have to have all of it in by 3/31 and these are cheap end zone seats, nothing spectacular screw Bob Kraft and the Patriots OK I'm done with my rant now and off to mail my check :D |
$13 per seat???? When was this 1972???? Damn you are an old fucker, even Purdue is over $55 a game.
What would you rather have? $90 seats and 3 rings or $13 seats and the #1 pick year after year? it's a fact, new modern stadiums = Super Bowls so hell yeah, raise those prices. |
BTW, it is a very nice stadum, but did the Mellencamp make it that much better? lol

MN has been trying for new stadium for 3+ years now.
Doesn't look like it will happen this year. But the gophers (U of MN) probably will, because it will be 80+% will come from private donations. I'm all for tax brakes for businesses, but the NFL or any other sports team models, it simply doesn't make sense as NO outside money is coming in. Assuming a 600 million stadium, and tax payers at 40% (most recent proposal), 240 million that we get to pay for. A new stadium does NOT bring in new money for the state that builds them. It simply moves it around the state, and more than likely moves the money out of state. Indy and Mpls domes aren't that old. I'm all for updating though! Green Bay - Chicago etc... |
Oh yeah - we recently built, and are still paying for the Excel Center for the Wild.
Anyone seen any NHL games lately? :D |
Actually that’s not true in the case of Indy.
With all the conventions and NCAA final 4 (3 - 4 in the next 10 years) Indy will be hosting it will bring outside $ to Indy, and with a new Stadium they can now try and get the Super Bowl played in Indy since the RCA is too small for the Super Bowl requirements. RCA was small when they built it, it's over 21 years old and the 2nd smallest in the NFL and not built for today’s ticket buying fan, and renovation would be useless as it still would not allow more then 56,000 fans into a game, with this new stadium it will be 66,000+ and have luxury seating which is where the real $ is made. There was a big stink over what you are saying in regards to the Fieldhouse in Indy five years ago, everyone bitched it would not make $ and was a waste, but since they built it they have made huge $ and is considered one of the best venues in the nation now. Indy is going out of its way to be the sports capital of the world, they have the NCAA, 500, Colts, and Pacers and host F1, NASCAR, and so many other sporting events that could be anywhere else, but they come to Indy since they have a great reputation of being well organized and up to date host. This is needed to keep that tradition going. |

We've hosted the Super Bowl, NCAA tourneys and everything else.
It's nice biz for a week or so, but then nothing. 7 and counting bars and restaurants have closed because of No NHL in St Paul. (unemployed - nearing 300 - Thanks Mr Coleman you ass!) I'd spend billions promoting the U of M research department that returns to MN on average 10:1 :D Dell (as in computers) is building in North Carolina. They will have more full time jobs there in 1 year than a stadium will have in 20 years of part time jobs. I'm not against sports.. god knows how many bb games I've watched this year. But if the T-wolves folded camp, no biggy, there's tv. I think fan loyalty was lost many years ago with free agency. You may be correct, Indy may be different. Up here, this isn't a destination on many maps for sports, just the megamall. |

Take a look at these MNF's games, Pats, Colts, Pitt, Atl, GB and Philly all have 3 MNF's. some very good (potential) matchups all year on Monday. |bananna
Looking like a Brett Favre farewell tour to me :)
|
And a good one it will be, It will be a sad day when he walks away.
|
Holy cow... I just looked at the Colts schedule.... wow..... Anything less then 14 wins by Indy is a failure.

Indi better win the AFC, cause they certainly can't play outdoors!
|
I think this is the year for Indy, if NE wins 10 games I will be surprised, age, cap and health has hurt them badly.
But they still have the best coach out there so I am not counting them out. |

This could very well be the year for the Colts. I didn't think that Edge was going to stay, but with him there I could see at least 12 wins. Pats should still be at the top though, if Dillon can stay healthy for one more year and they get there allstar secondary actually starting. Fucking Brady has ice in his veins. I just don't see Indy beating them in New England. imo :) |

Sam Mills, an undersized linebacker who became a Pro Bowl player with New Orleans and Carolina and was later an assistant coach for the Panthers, died Monday after fighting cancer for nearly two years, the Panthers said. He was 45.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2040015 I enjoyed watching him play, and his interviews as an Asst Coach were always interesting. |
The NFL's "Monday Night Football," a staple on ABC for the past 35 seasons, will move to ESPN starting with the 2006 season.
And NBC is returning to the NFL after six years away by taking the Sunday night broadcast previously on ESPN. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2040130 holy cow.... This will take time to get use to. |shocking
Take time to get used to? Holy fuck! If you're in the Buffalo area, put on Channel 2 on Sunday nights instead of channel 26 & on Monday, put on 26 instead of 7 - big fucking deal :D
|
that's the only way to see a MNF in Buffalo isnt it?
|
Doesn't matter what channel the Vikes play like crap on :)
|
At least I:
1 - have a football team in my home town 2 - have actually been to an NFL game 3 - won the fantasy league :D |

The NFL Draft is here, now kickoff is only 4 months away.
Madden '06 previews look real good, I seem to get it every other year and this is the year I'm due. I love draft day, the #1 pick has 4 months to get ready for it and they take the entire 15 mins to make a decision. If you need 15 more minutes after 4 months to think about it you are already in trouble. So here we are "blessed" with Mel Kipers telling us how smart he is over and over and his dye job is getting worse and worse… |
Alex Smith #1???? I'm shocked where did he come from? no one saw that coming.....
15 mins I will never get back.... |

Mel Kiper's hair is wonderful.
|
This pick will answer the rumors of Ricky coming back or not....
|
Nope... Ricky is done
good pick. |
This looks good for the Vikes :)
We need Braylon Edwards or Troy Williamson (preferred up here at least) |
I think Mike Williams is better then both of them, but his year off will hurt his status.
Im thinking Braylon goes to Browns or Bears..... .... ok, its Browns..... |
Damn, just dawned on me, we should have had a pool going on if Marice Clarrett gets drafted or not.
If hes taken before the 6th round I would be shocked. |
Ricky was done a while ago.
|
Yes!!! :)
Speed rules with Willliamson |
WOW!!!!
The Lions take a WR 3 years in a row... Mike Williams.... Big Shock, talk about major pressure on Joey this year. |
Not many trades going on like people figured. I was hoping the Browns could trade down. But Edwards is an ok pick since we had to stick to #3. As a lifelong Buckeye fan though. It's gonna be tough getting past that michigan thing........ (hey Braylon.. lots of touchdowns would help me get over it)
