Listen to Torn, he should know. MANY woman have had to get restaining orders on him before. :D

Damn Jim -
Eye injuries are not laughing matters. My mother can only see 20% from her right eye.

You take care of Vickie, GG (actually MML) will take care here.

Did those people happen to live next to 3 mile island for awhile? Or call Tommy to make sure that her escalator goes all the way to the top!

Cleo 2005-07-10 07:16 PM

I called someone a stupid drunk once, turned out they had a gun on them. The outcome was not good at all.

It really is amazing the things people will do over getting called a name. A lot of people have some real anger management issues.

Good thing all they had was an umbrella and their fists as a weapon and not something much worse through it really sucks about Vicky's eye.

My right eye is trash, has been for years. There's a lot of little things that take some getting used to. My advice, until she gets her vision back, if you two go out someplace try to stay on her right side so that if she walks into something or someone it will be you...:)

Things can really seem like they come from out of no where especially when you're not used to having one eye.

Something that crossed my mind last night. Remember I mentioned I had to blow into a Breathalyzer and blew a 0.00? Well, the assailants did not have to blow into anything. I wonder why the cops have the victim use the Breathalyzer but not the assailants? It may not just be the assailants that get sued this week.

It is just so sad. My poor wife has to wear an eye patch and can hardly move. I have been on the phone with my lawyer 6 times since this thing has happened. We have done everything right...police report, pictures, doctors report...etc.

urb 2005-07-11 06:30 AM

Get good photos of all injuries and a doctors report, plus copies of police reports/statements for your lawyer. You may also need an independent witness to the taking of the photos. Don't leave anything to chance.

The most worrying thing is Victoria's sight. :(

You guys all know how I feel about calling a woman a cunt. But this woman and Vickie have had problems for about 12 years because of their daughters. Everything her daughter did, was our daughter's fault. This woman was the first to come to my window, pound on it with her umbrella and call us both fucking assholes. Then, I could not believe the words coming out of my mouth... "You are and have always been a cunt". Her son did what I would have done, he sucker punched me for saying it. But, as the law says...

"Words alone, no matter how insulting or provocative, do not justify an assault or battery against the person who utters the words."

This woman actually got into a physical fight with her daughter at her daughters father and her husband's funeral. Her daughter had her arrested for that as well.

The cops took the photos :)

Jim 2005-07-11 06:37 AM

And, it's her sight I worry about the most as well. The rest will heal. But, she is blind in one eye.

Jim 2005-07-11 06:38 AM

Oh, Oh...I forgot...the woman has a lot of money :) She owns several homes and cars. Her husband left her a huge insurance policy when he died.

He is scary..
As soon as the boys found out what happened, they called him. The Cook Boy loves Vickie and would do anything for her. He likes me too. Our last party, some guy called all the women there whores. I pushed the guy down and threw him out. About an hour later, The Cook Boy came to me and said, I have to use your shower, I have blood all over me, nobody calls Vickie a whore :)

I talked to him yesterday to find out if he needed bail. He said the guy would never have him arrested because he knew the same or worse would happen again. For a guy to start swinging at Vickie, this guy deserved The Cook Boy's wrath. I didn't find out that the guy was trying to hit my wife until her and I went to the police station to fill out the report.

This don't surpise me being your in FLA. When I was down there in my younger days me and my friends learned really fast about the gun laws there. A Cuban guy cut us off on A1A, well you know the deal. You just don't cut off 7 drunk teanagers in a truck. Well long story short, 7 tuff guys ended up running for their lives like snow whites little bitches when this guy got out of his car an rattled off 3 rounds over our heads. Thank god no one saw the cop on the side of the road. He got the Cuban guy in line real fast, and well you get the rest of the idea.
BTW hows things with that storm? I have not heard from my sister nor have I watched the new to find out how it was going.
Jim everything will be cool. Things will work out. I think your wife is in good hands. Regardless of what happend I have only seen 1 case where I guy beat up someone and got away with it. Someone was fucking with his mom for like 2 years in the hood. She was like 70, he went to the house and the shithead did not know he was there. Started messing with his mom an got the smackdown. Judge agreed with him and let him off. But thats a rare rare thing. These people will pay, either one way or the other. Now I dont know about NY, but when I was younger I did some bad things and had agravated assult charges placed on me. In NJ thats a 7 year hardtime in prison. No community service, no community jail. It's Rawway with the big boys for 7 years. The punch to your face is simple assult, but the umbrella is agravated. What I was told by my laywer at that time was if you hit anyone with anything, heck it can be a fruit, they can place that charge on you. Only time they can place AA charges on someone for just a simple hand fight is if that person has had some kind of special training for a period over one year IE fung fu, military, etc. Good luck to you and hope you let us know what happens. Not that it helps to make anything better but the mental and emotional anguish you two are suffering through will add another level to your lawsuit.

Man Jim, I really feel for the both of you. I understand all too well what Vickie must be going through and you must feel just SO helpless as there's nothing you can really do to help her accept offer comfort and support and on top of that the worries with your daughter. |dizzy|

I hope things right themselves quickly.

I think a little humor can be found it just about anything and helps lighten things up a bit. Otherwise we all end up trying to be so politically correct that we start shitting diamonds out of our anuses.

Jim 2005-07-11 02:24 PM

Update
We came home to see Vickie's Doctor and our Lawyer. She found out that she may never get her eyesight back in the eye poked with the umbrella. She is seeing shadows but that's it. Puss is still pouring out of it. Meanwhile, the lawyer said, we are probably talking about between 100 and 250k. But still, I would don't really care about the money. I care about my wife's eye.

cherri 2005-07-11 02:31 PM

That is so sad I am sorry about Vickies sight.

Cleo 2005-07-11 02:34 PM

Wow that is really awful about Vicky's eye. :(

No amount of money makes up for losing eyesight.

Sue the hell out of them. I would press the police to file charges against them too.

Trev 2005-07-11 02:40 PM

Sorry to hear that Jim, when you said "torn cornea" I said eek.. that's never good. I wish her the best and hope for complete recovery.

Our lawyer is making sure that the charges are not reduced. As a matter of fact, they only charged the guy that sucker punched me with harassment. The lawyer called the DA while I was there and had it upped to Assault. The woman was already charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

Greenguy 2005-07-11 03:54 PM

Oh man :(

zack2004 2005-07-11 04:33 PM

Sorry to hear what happened to you and your wife.
But here is some video of "cook boy" aka Useless Warrior (he is the one in the red shirt) defending your honor. http://media.skoopy.com/vids/vid_00629.wmv
I'll just go back to lurking |couch|

plateman 2005-07-11 07:44 PM

Dam jim thats some crazy shit and at least The guy got the shit beat out of him.. And lets all hope your wife's eye will be ok..

digifan 2005-07-12 07:50 AM

People are dangerous... I mean stupid people... I hope they rot in jail. Idiots.

Jim 2005-07-12 08:16 AM

Another update
Vickie just woke up and can see better than she could last night. It looks like the odds of a full recovery are on her side. She is seeing a specialist today and hopefully, we will get good news.

We found out last night that the guy involved has been arested 3 times in the past 2 years for assult. So, I think this time will stick. The woman was last arrested by her daughter for biting her at the girls father's funeral. Imagine a woman getting dragged from her husband's funeral because he had to have a physical fight with her daughter.

We are sueing for as much as we possibly can. Vickie does not want to settle no matter the amount offered. So, it looks like we may be going to trial.

We really don't care about the money so much. We just want to put these people through hell. And I believe hell is exactly what they are going to get.

Cleo 2005-07-12 08:22 AM

I still want to know how the two of you came to be part of a gay wedding?

Jim 2005-07-12 08:39 AM

My step daughter was the best man :)
Since she could not do it, Vickie had to take her place.

Greenguy 2005-07-12 08:55 AM

Gay weddings sound very confusing |dizzy|

Does this require a sex change or at least going in male drag?

Ok, so far we have… you brought your wife to a gay wedding so that she could be a man where a umbrella toting cunt and her son assaulted both of you at which time you had to do some blowing but no one else did.

On a much more serious note… glad to hear that Vicky's eye is doing much better. Sounds like she will make a full recovery. Still a very painful and expensive thing to go through. When I was a teenage I had my eyeball cut and then at another time in my twenties I was blinded for a few days by an electrical arc when a 480 volt contactor shorted out while I was looking at it. Both times the pain was unbelievable but nothing compared to the fear of losing my eyesight.

You need to put these people through legal hell. May their gums start bleeding and all their teeth fall out.

Greenguy 2005-07-12 09:22 AM

Cleo - you forgot that Jim had to help the groom get ready...but who's the groom? :D

Boy oh boy.. but it just started and they are in full shock... it is a question you can ask maybe years later imo.

Jim, please correct me if I am wrong.

Just my 2 cents worth :(

Jim 2005-07-12 06:41 PM

Yeah, we did nothing to cause this.
Vickie just got back from 2 doctors. One, looked at everything except where she said she had pain. She told the doctor that she was having nightmares and I told him that it wakes me up at night. His answer was "No, this incident wouldn't cause that".

The next doctor...an eye specialist said that she will regain full sight in a couple of weeks. Funny, you go to a doctor setup by your lawyer and they say she may never see again and you go to your own specialist and he says that she will be fine. :)
