I lost to a girl - yuck! Collete's up by 1 with 2 guys playing tonight, so unless Larry Johnson throws a pick & Tony Gonzales fumbles, I'm fucked |banghead|

I did beat Torn in one league & I have a chance to beat him in another, so my nubby little fingers are crossed that I'll be 2-1 this week :)

Ramster 2005-09-26 04:52 PM

LT sucked the first 2 games, but had a fantastic game Sunday.

I have him in one pool and traded him to Greenguy in another for Tory Holt and Todd Heap, 2 spots I deperately needed help in. Even with LT I still would have lost that matchup when you switch out Holt for one of the sorry-ass receivers I have.

My teams are getting closer though. :)

Preacher 2005-09-27 11:57 AM

Well this is the week! The last two undefeated teams in Gabbo 2005 are going head to head, and as half of my team is playing Houston, I'm thinking this will be a lock. Your reign of terror ends this week Greenie! :D

Greenguy 2005-09-27 12:01 PM

Preacher - all I know is I'm gonna load up my bench incase we tie |thumb

Torn Rose 2005-09-27 12:14 PM

That’s right pete panic...cry over something that's been posted for over 2 months, and hasn’t happen yet.

Greenguy 2005-09-27 01:28 PM

I just want to make sure that if I tie Yell in week 7 that I'm not penalized for having 4 guys on a bye |thumb

Torn Rose 2005-09-27 01:37 PM

So you would rather be penalized for being the "visiting team"? Yeah, that’s much more fair.

2 or 3 years ago in another league I missed the playoffs to a team with more losses then I had, the reason was I had 2 ties and lost to % points when I beat the team who beat me out of the playoffs 2 of 3 times, so I will never run a league that allows ties if I can avoid it, I would much rather have a loss then a tie any day of the week.

Greenguy 2005-09-27 03:29 PM

I'd rather be 3-1-1 as opposed to 3-2. Think about it - if there is a tie, you're going to reward the team that didn't start the correct players OR you're going to penalize the team that has a couple of guys injured or on bye weeks.

Let me guess....you'd have "won" those 2 weeks you had ties & easily made the playoffs, right? |cry|

Maybe you can set it up so that you get a loss & everyone else gets a tie :D

Torn Rose 2005-09-27 04:27 PM

I have no idea what would have happen had this rule been in effect then, but ties are worse then losses according to ESPN's scoring system, nothing should be worse then a loss, a tie by their scoring system is worse then a loss and it cost me the playoffs. Again, I would much rather lose then have a worthless tie when it could hurt me in the playoff race.

Don't hate the game, hate being too lazy to read posted rules.

Do you stay awake at night wondering what would have happen had you turned left instead of right 2 months ago? Or what will happen in week 7 if you turn right instead of left? Bitch when it happens, you lost by 2 not by a tie, Toni lost by 1 also not by a tie, and had it gone to tiebreaker she would have lost as well, but she isn’t complaining at all.

You lost, deal with it.

As for next year, this may be my last year so I will worry about next year in August 2006

Greenguy 2005-09-27 04:31 PM

I'm not upset with the loss - I'm a big man & I can take my medicine.

I'm upset that I was too stupid to read the rules to see if there was some oddball half-assed way of breaking ties :D

I'll take being 4-4-2 (.500) over being 4-6 (.400) any day of the week.

Torn Rose 2005-09-27 04:33 PM

and if it came to the playoffs I KNOW FOR A FACT if between those two teams the 4-6 team will be in the playoffs and the 4-4-2 team would not be.

I know, no doubt in my mind, since IT HAPPEN TO ME.

I'd retire too if my teams were a combined 3-18 |bananna|

That makes no sense at all - what'd ESPN have to say?

Never received a reply from ESPN, wrote them more then once, I did keep track of what I scored during the playoffs and I would have won it all, since I outscored all 4 playoff teams by a pretty large margin.

Greenguy 2005-09-27 05:04 PM

What was your record & what was the other teams? (I know my examples were not the exact records)

Torn Rose 2005-09-27 05:27 PM

I was 7-3-2, other team was 7-5 and I had beaten that team 2 of 3 times. The other playoff teams had better records; I think 8-4, 9-3 and 11-1 so I have no issue with them in the playoffs. What makes it even “better” was the guy who made the playoffs didn’t know he “beat me” since he didn’t think he had a chance so he never set his teams and was eliminated without knowing he was even in the playoffs.

I started that year 0-2-2 and went on a 6 game win streak, nothing I found in the stats or rules explained why I was not in the playoffs, I wrote ESPN 2 times before the playoffs started and 1 more time after, never a reply.

No matter what ties suck; the NHL and NFL need to change their overtime rules, no way in hell would I want season tickets to a game that ended in a tie, nothing is more dramatic then overtime except a double or triple overtime.

Yes because I remember the one game that the Steelers tied two years ago, and ...well... that's about the only NFL tie that I do recall, and I probably only recall that one because I'm a Steelers fan.

How many divisions & were you in his?

OH! The NHL got rid of the ties & they now have a shootout :)

Torn Rose 2005-09-27 05:51 PM

Thought that was playoffs only in regards to the NHL.

2 divisions, I was the 2nd team in my division and he was in the other division they took 3 from his division and 1 from mine.

Greenguy 2005-09-27 05:59 PM

Ties in the Playoffs are decided by sudden death overtime - they just keep playing until someone scores.

That's fucked with ESPN - I'm surprised you still use them.

Greenguy 2005-10-01 09:55 AM

The following people will officially have their asses handed to them tomorrow:
Torn & his Florida Boilmakers
Preacher & his Left Out Steelers
Linkster & his very uncreatively named Dragons

That is all |waves|

Linkster 2005-10-01 07:00 PM

I do look a little uncreative against some antijaves gay something :D but I do believe that game will be close

Torn Rose 2005-10-03 10:12 AM

what a great kicking game last night! :D

Greenguy 2005-10-03 10:38 AM

I really do suck big hairy balls |banghead|

I beat Linkster, but that was a given :)
But Cadillac Williams fucked me hard & long & I lost to both Torn & Preacher |banghead|

But those loses are nothing compared to the loss to Yell in my other league - fucker had only 1 RB & 1 DB due to byes & injuries & I still fucking lost.

I hate Fantasy Football |banghead|

Preacher 2005-10-03 12:58 PM

Yeah, I know I said I'd wait till Tuesday, but tonights game doesn't matter.
|roses|

So who had their ass handed to them again?

Buddy Christ Gabbo Lovers: 81
The Left Coast Steelers: 106

Ouch!
|pokefun|

Torn Rose 2005-10-03 01:07 PM

Look on the bright side GG, at least Yell, Preacher and myself won’t shit talk to you....

Nope.... none of us would do that... not to you.....

Greenguy 2005-10-03 02:04 PM

Fuck you & fuck your kicker.

Torn Rose 2005-10-04 09:25 AM

I went 4-3 this week, my two losses are less then 4 points, one loss was by my 3-0 team which lost to MML by a field goal.

Kickers suck huh Greenguy?

Of the 3 leagues, Preacher has the last unbeaten team.

It's mostly luck, had I had better position in the draft my quarterback would not have been Carson Palmer, luckily he's having a decent year! Instead I got access to two of the hottest receivers. |king|

Ouch :D

We'll see, I might be 2-2 but only Preacher has more points.

Its a long season ;)

Ramster 2005-10-04 02:58 PM

Hey, I'm happy. I went 2-1 this week and the loss was a close one.

Hey - this is the Fantasy Football Trash Talking thread - let's not get too real in here & pick on my shitbag local team :D

Preacher 2005-10-06 08:06 PM

I was, you said you took him in a league. ;)

Greenguy 2005-10-06 11:31 PM

I dropped him last week & picked up Testaverde |thumb

Torn Rose 2005-10-11 08:46 AM

I went 3-0 in the leagues that matter and 6-1 over all.

I saw you were playing a woman this weekend so how did you do greenguy?..... |waves|

Greenguy 2005-10-11 09:38 AM

Next year, we're going to get these leagues back to what they should be...ALL MEN |thumb

Kat destroyed me - I think I needed Gates to get 220 yds & 4 TD's last night :D

I did beat up on MML & Ramster, so I was 2-1 overall - plus I won in my other league for the 1st time, so I'm happy |bananna|
