I don't use exit links - if they want to leave they can go out the way they came in :)
|
I have not been using exit links so far without trouble. But I had actually decided to try it out (as of today) and send it to one of my mainstream sites.
I think the best thing to do if you are using an exit link is to build a relevant mainstream site or some sort of mainstream traffic filtering hub as some of you guys have already mentioned. Exit links for SE traffic would likely be more effective from SE traffic than actual LL traffic as surfers on LLs will already be looking for porn whereas a surfer from SEs may have typed in an obscure term and actually be looking for something mainstream. There is still the curiosity factor that may cause a surfer to click on the exit link and they could still be looking for porn, maybe a small link back into the adult network could be included on your mainstream site. Making money out of your exit link should be possible but like most things in this biz it will be trial and error. But I think there is some pocket money to be made from it and I have heard some people do. |
only one question:
- anyone ever made $$ not just tons of clicks off the exit links? (linking 'exit' link to yahoo for two years myself) |

I believe it is a waste to send it to a Search Engine. I think people started to use that as their exit thinking it will raise their site in SE rankings. |
from what I heard people never made anything from pps programs, probably pay per click is the way to go then, never tried that.
what I follow: "exit link going to something than just a search engine will get you declined more places and you will lose more $$ in future than those few bucks you made from exit traffic" |
I just want to clarify one thing.. I havent built a free site in years.. the traffic was coming from different avenues and I didnt have to follow anyone rules to have the exit link there..
I am not suggesting everyone put up a sponsor on their exit link - make sure you stay withing the rules of each LL you submit to. Smut Gremlin's doesnt have any "exit" link rules. Except it cannot go to an adult destination. But thats logic... |

i'm wearing a shirt from them right now actually, it says, "Yes, I have plenty of change you homeless piece of shit! Thanks for asking." |
Regarding the back button. I would have replied earlier but I didn't know about this thread. Thank you Emerald for sending it to me.
I just fixed the problem. It was caused by a script we had running that helped us moniter traffic. People would go from site a consumptionjunction.com > link.php > linkings.com if you are on linkings.com and hit back its only gonna get to link.php then its gonna push them right back forward. That link.php had a real function for us but it isn't worth losing traffic over so we removed it from the equation. All should be working fine now. Anyone can hit me up directly at rick@dollars.com if they have questions or problems. |
That's good news...thanks much for fixing it Rick |thumb

A quick question on the side: Would this be an acceptable exit link on a freesite http://www.my-big-penis.com ? Or is it to adult/money making minded?

I don't know how others feel but I would count it as one of your sponsor links. Adult or non adult a sponsor is a sponsor... |
That's what I was thinking :)

I'd call that an adult exit and would have to decline the site :( But, I don't count the exit link as one of your 3 sponsor links...even it it is a mainstream revenue generator of some sort. My own experience has been that exit links get very few clicks and generate very little revenue...so I don't count em. |
