The picks are up. I might have to add a coulple of people that are not eligible for the $400.

I think I have them recorded correctly but look them over careful. If I am notified of any mistakes prior to tomorrow games, I will correct them.

The odd makers like Indy, Seattle, New England and Philly.

USA Today picks Indy, Dallas, New England and Philly.

The forecasting engine that simulates each game one play at a time for 10,000 times has it as:
Kansas City Chiefs (32%) Indianapolis Colts (68%)
Dallas Cowboys (50%) Seattle Seahawks (50%)
New York Jets (20%) New England Patriots (80%)
New York Gaints (33%) Philadelphia Eagles (67%)

The experts at Greenguy and Jim sees it like this:
Kansas City Chiefs (7) Indianapolis Colts (22)
Dallas Cowboys (12) Seattle Seahawks (17)
New York Jets (4) New England Patriots (25)
New York Gaints (4) Philadelphia Eagles (25)
Greenie and I agree that this will be a bad weekend for Archie's boys. I think that the Seahawks will be ready for any team that Dallas puts on the field. Watch Parcells to join Cowher in retiring.

dareutwo 2007-01-05 04:23 PM

Simon - T Pat???
Jets AND Giants? Must be an NYC thing.
Figured Lorsha would go with the Giants.

According to Chop's simulated stats lol
The only one I'm out a limb on is KC, since Seatle/Dallas is 50 50.
If KC can control the ball and score running it, Payton won't be on the field much. And don't count out the KC recievers, Indy does not have a good defense.

Parcells already retired, so this will be 2nd retirement after 13 years :)

plateman 2007-01-05 04:43 PM

dam it looks like I missed it and am out

I figure the only way I have a chance in a football pool against Ramster is if every game is an upset, so I went 100% underdogs |huh
Don't know what Simon is thinking |loony|

I took the easy way...went with favorites across the board. But one never knows...the 'Any Given Sunday' thing can crop up at any time |banghead|

Ya, like the Cowboys actually winning a game. :D

Simon 2007-01-06 05:56 AM

I told Chop my system when I placed my bets. Since I haven't followed football in a lot of years, I put the eight names on little pieces of paper, folded 'em up, held them in one hand (I couldn't find a Crown Royal bag) and pulled them out one at a time with the other until I had the four picks. I promise to laugh very hard if they win.

Porn and football! I was thinking last night that I really to get a life. So I retire to the bedroom and watch the movie about Vince Papale, Invincible.

Let's wait and see how well my current system does.
Then I can think about tweaking it a little.

I thought that maybe Chop gave you a different set of rules before you made your picks |couch|

sue-fl 2007-01-07 10:51 AM

I thought it was a great game! I feel really bad for Romo though he screwed up and lost the game. It's going to be a long off season for him.

Looks like I'm out of the pool already as I picked the Cowboys |cry|

Don't think you're out yet Sue...

This isn't a one and done contest. It's whoever picks the most winners through the playoffs :)

I would argue with that.... but I can't be that self deluded. |banghead|

Just wait though. In 2 years.......... we'll have another new head coach with no previous head coaching experience, and 2 more bad drafts under our belts and....... |cry|

lorsha 2007-01-07 04:33 PM

I noticed I'm the only one with a (3) score, that picked my giants. I just could NOT pick against them! GO BIG BLUE!! |bananna|

Chop Smith 2007-01-07 08:02 PM

Lot of 4's on this page. You can start sending next week's picks.

dareutwo 2007-01-07 08:13 PM

Anyone else notice Chop updated the contest within a minute of the end of the Philly/Giants game? |thumb

Greenguy 2007-01-07 08:14 PM

I know I only got 2 right, but someone needs to tell T Pat that you're supposed to pick the WINNERS and not the LOSERS :D

I don't like Seattle's or Philly's chances next week tho. I thought those would be fairly easy wins and they definitely weren't!

NFC East games are always tough. That make next weeks pick extremely tough. I just tossed a coin on it. I already screwed up two picks so another one isn't going to really matter. :)

lorsha 2007-01-08 10:14 AM

I just had to go with my Giants. I don't regret the choice. Figures it ended the way it did.....they were in almost every game they lost this year, right up to the last play.
