Popeye’s about three years old, was supposed to be my wife’s dog but he decided he hates everyone but me, so now were cranky buds |angry|

Well, that summed me up. I'm a cat person. Although at times, this is my view when I'm trying to work, and Bu insists on petting.

I love my 2 cats, very different in personalities and size. BuBastis is 8 lbs and LOVES to be petted. She would be happy if that was my full time job. She is a bit of a nervous nelly, but I really love her.

Loki is now 16 lbs and all he cares about in the world is going out for walks. He doesn't care if it is 17 degrees or dark. He wants MadHatter to hook on his harness and take him out. Ever walked a cat? you go 4 feet, stop for a few minutes. 12 inches, pause for 10 minutes, then blinding fast let me run after that bird while you try and catch me. Its a hoot.

I'm like you Cleo, I love most animals and I too am vegatarian for that reason.

im allergic to both cats and dogs coz of my asthma, anyhow, i still like dogs more than cats... they can do a lot more! |bananna|

Had a Cat for 14 years.... we had to put him away... he had cancer.. :(

Now i'm waiting to have my own house to get maybe a dog..

Altho cats can be cute and such I would choose the dog everytime.. much more fun to play with.

1. Dogs are much better friends than cats.
2. I am a big and strong man - cats are too small and fragile for me to play with them and i would probably squish and kill my cat accidentally when walking to the WC at night.
With my >100lbs Alascan Malamute i can always be a little bit rough when playfully pretending to take his favorite blanket or bone from him or "fighting" him in the snow and few times i stomped/kicked him in the dark he did not even sqeal (after being stomped on by half asleep clumsy 225lbs any cat would be seriously hurt (broken ribs) or even dead).
3. I can see emotions (love, happiness) in my dog's eyes and mouth - a cat is like an alien from another planet - absolutely no emotional contact.

I love that type of dog! A good friend of mine had one in high school, his name was Bear.
I myself grew up with a almost 200 pound English Mastiff. The most wonderful gentle giant ever!
Until now I have always grown up with and been around big dogs, but now that I have a little guy I would have to say the poop scooping alone is well worth it and I adore having a "lap dog" of appropriate size!

Do you have any pics of your doggy?

Mine is extremely gentle to people, but has a strong teritorial instinct so i have to hold him on a leach at all times except when we are deep in a forest - if he could roam free he would try to kill every other dog in my neighborhood.

Conan looks almost exactly (even i would not be able to recognize them from more than 20 meters) like this malamute - i would not be surprised if this was his brother (from his fathers side).

Yeah !
He's a powerful chick magnet ;) :D
When he was younger all local children always shouted "Cooonaaaan !" at a first sight of him and ran to pet him and accompanied us on our daily walks. |loony|

One little girl even lied to her friends that i was her father (maybe it was due to my superhero appearance at that time too hehehe (i experimented with low dosages of anabolics)) and Conan was her dog ! |headbang| :)

aussiewebguy 2007-01-27 05:05 AM

Dog person.

I had been without a pet for 12 years and 6 months ago we got a rescued puppy. A week ago we got ourselves another one to keep the first handful company.

So far it's worked.

It's good to have dogs again.

oldbrad 2007-01-27 05:36 AM

i have a 10 year old chow. He's a huge teddy bear thats great around my kids too. Great overall pet.
