It's ok, I have no reason not to take your word for it. I guess we both have to accept that there are positive and negative things and you can have either, depending on the situation. ;)

I'm adding on average 10-15 sponsor hosted free sites each day. It'd take me a few hours to make them, as opposed to a few minutes to add them :)

Plus it's not like I'm not making my own sites as well, just that the hosted free sites are quick & easy & make me a nice chunk of change (Hell, my Extreme Paychecks account doubled since they added the hosted free sites)

Besides, most of the SE stuff I do is on the root of the domains anyway :D

Cool, so it's basically a good pay-off for a few minutes of extra work and it can be done in addition to one's own sites. Fair enough, thank you all for taking the time to explain it to me.

I can make a free site everyday and then add 1 or 2 free hosted sites as well so now I have double or triple the chance for sales. It's a no brainer to add free hosted sites.

Greenguy, Buff handles all of our new affiliates and we do go through an approval process for most people. I usually catch people we know and approve them. I went ahead and approved your account. Let me know if there is anything else you need. And we have free hosted galleries but no free sites, something I need to work on adding.

Greenguy, we're working on a couple of thing to put in place soon then we'll probobly be opening it up. We started this when we first launched to keep fraud down and its done a pretty good job so far. But we'll be opening it wide soon. And yes, they know about the site.

No problem. For the free sites, I'll just have to find someone to build us some and I'll get them up.

You could start by using 2-3 of your hosted galleries then add an index and main page to create a site. That would work for me. :)

The hosted galleries thing has taken off like a rocket, but the hosted freesites don't seem to be too well supported.

Why do you think other sponsors don't offer them? You think they don't get the return on freesites that they would with galleries ?

Don't get 100 done - get 10 or 20 done up with fresh templates/designs for each & then go from there. If you tell someone to build you 100 right off the bat, they are all gonna look the same.

Well we just took on a builder..we plan on 30 of each every month.

The sponsors who do NOT offer hosted sites are in the minority as I type. Yes, a couple of the older and bigger ones don't, but look for them to play catchup soon :D

Excellent thread Surfn. Dame is looking at using a LOT of the hosted galleries & sites in a project we have coming up and this gives us plenty of useful info to work from.
Of course it is obvioous which sponsor will get the best spots on the new site heh heh
