i agree it sucks, but if they are losing money on something if i were them, i'd close the account also (after paying the money owed), plateman doesnt strike me as the scamming type either..

Eventually you wouldn't have any webmasters left because every webmaster goes through a period where the joins they send aren't going to yield the sponsor a profit. Just about all PPS programs look at the overall numbers over the long run to determine the program's profitibilty. One webmaster might only return 80% but another will return 150%. Once you start canning anyone under 100% then you have no right to call yourself a PPS program. SICCash is not PPS - it is a crappy revshare program as they take no losses on individual webmasters and payout no bonuses to well performing webmasters. A real revshare program takes no losses and pays out bonuses. A real PPS takes losses but doesn't pay out bonuses. Personally I was canned from SICCash because of a bad couple of months based on a very small sample of signups. Of course the previous 3 years based on a much greater number of signups were not taken into consideration. . . maybe they're just complete morons.

Holy Shit, this is starting to get out of hand. For Greg to phony up the stats that I saw would be next to impossible. It's $55 for Christ's sake.

Nobody wins or gains anything from this thread. I would suspect future sponsors will look at Plateman's stats much more closely because of this...right or wrong. $55 is nothing...let it go. If you are that desperate for the $55, give me your paypal or epassporte and I will send it to you.

And Greg, Xenu Link Sleuth is not a hitbot. You guys should probably fix that in whatever software you are using. Of course all the hits from that software came mostly from one ip address.

Bottom line is, I don't believe anybody did anything wrong. If I ran the program, I would have terminated the account. If I was Plateman, I would be pissed off but I would move on.

greg look dude I pulled all your links on dec 3 of 2004 how hits showed in jan of 2005 is you problem to figure out..

and I have proof of it..

There's a lot of unique situations in this case that have been touched on, but not clearly addressed all at once, so let me see if I can exaplain them.

Jim asked Greg to contact him & he showed Jim Plateman's stats within 10 minutes - he's what SIC Cash (and Jim) saw:

90% of the traffic was from the Link Bot (NOT a Hit Bot, but a link checking program that most Link List owners use)
The Link Bot was being run VERY often - sometimes 15-20 times a day.
Each time the Link Bot ran, each link that Plateman had up got a "hit"
Now, if you take away the hits that the Link Bot sent, he was converting better than 1:2
If you look at the IP's of the signups that he got, they were all very similar & all started with the same Class (like 123.45.XX.XXX)

Based on this, if I was a sponsor, I would have instantly suspected fraud.

Now, knowing Plateman as I do, I probably would have contacted him, but I'm sure SIC Cash sees a lot of this type of thing & is probably sick of dealing with webmasters on the other end.

Long story short - write if off as a loss, pull the links & get back to work.

I can't see anything funny going on. Programs don't screw people out of that little bit of money unless they truly believe they are being cheated. There really is no conspiracy. I know you didn't cheat, Greenie knows you didn't cheat but...if we had no idea who you were, we would both think you did.

plateman, I agree with Jim and Greenguy on this one: MOVE ON. At this point, you are moving from "webmaster with a complaint" to "whiner". There is nothing you can add to this discussion that will suddenly make greg go "Gee, your a nice guy, here is your $55 and your account is open again". I looked at the numbers (which I suspect it unique rather than raw hits) and I would have killed your account. Everything greg has shown here supports their position.

I think you are better off distancing yourself from the whole issue and moving on. If the money is important, ask Jim for it. :-)

One more thing greg is basing some of his findings on traffic sent this month here is a example on one of there links in my admin..

now where it says reviewed is when I pulled all links and I added everyone of there links on oct. 12 2004 and pulled everyone on dec 3 2004 and I sent no traffic in jan this month - there stats are bogus and they are dropping webmasters to profit from all of the 55.00 they owe them..

I just want to say again that everything that greg said about me and my traffic was not true the fact is my traffic was so good in oct. and part of nov. that I can brag about it and when you have 2 people type in a phrase they will join a pay site I seen it happen to many months now and I wish I had oct. server stats, I changed servers and can't pull it up but I will give a example of the search strings that people found my site with and joined a pay site also I went through all my sponsors and looked at the hits and not one looks fishy.. And another fact I only ran my link checker 3 or 4 times and not at all this month.. Look at 20 and 23 - 2 people out of 4 signed up for anime sites for 2 different sponsors and 23 I didnt look for a sale there
and mind you greg oct 04 is when I had the most and best traffic and had over 2000 search terms from yahoo and almost every page of my site was on the first page of the serps for targeted terms and when I added your links and they were on top, and to add that I was not getting that much traffic then and all my other traffic went to the free links I have..

So greg this is how you can have those 1 to 1 sign up ratios and NO one can control what ip people will use a credit card for porn or if there are 5 in one state..

And you say I wanted to cash out and steal your money - Not true I read other threads on your program and a webmaster said your sites dont retain, so why would I want to stay on rev-share and not make hardly anything when I can send my LL traffic to a PPS program and make 25 or 35 ver. 2.95

That's a tough break plateman... When you are still making your way in the biz every penny counts - but it isn't always about the money (if it is you will have a hard time indeed).

There is always another sponsor just as there are always other webmasters.

ARS accused me of fraud a couple years ago when my conversions started hovering around 1:12.

I sent them an email which basically said "Fine - your loss"... It took me less than 15 minutes to find another sponsor which not only never bitched about my great conversions - they gave me a job.

ARS lost out on tens of thousands of dollars in sales from me since that time. No big deal to them - they always have more webmasters. No big deal to me - there is always another sponsor. |thumb

This business is all about leveraging your time and effort and others' time and effort. A lot of wasted energy has went into this thread, so I hope it teaches someone out there something.
