ok, am i reading it right or is that a geo targeted subject? lol does everyone see their nick name on the subject? Cause i see " AdultLoungeRaffi " ???? LOL this is too funny....

Well, anyway... I started in Adult offline back in 1989 when the service bureau i was partners with started in AudioText. 976-Date was the first dating phone service. Then we expanding from local ( 976 ) to nationwide ( 900 ) numbers. At that time, personals ( you know those " SWF " ads in papers did not exist ) so i started this whole thing called " Personals " with 900 lines in print media. The very first print weekly in the US who had become my first affiliate was a paper out of Little Rock, Arkansas with a circulation of about 20,000 and made more money with its " Dating Personals " than their entire advertising department did. This was when Jonathan Silverstein, Marty ( AdultCheck ) , and others worked for me selling turnkey 900 phone lines :-). We generated $100,000 or more at times per month in setting up 900 lines for affiliates who wanted their own turnkey lines as a business. By 2003 we were generating around 2,000,000 minutes per month at an average of $1.98 per minute. You do the numbers :-) although i didnt own the entire service bureau and was a share holder of a percetange. I can safely say i invented the personals in print media since there was no other company doing this at that time and that was the first paper who printed these personals we transcribed singles onto paper and mailed to the news weekly camera ready.

Then i registered my first adult domain in 1994 and completely converted onto the adult internet industry from that day on...and the rest is history!

So to answer the question, i made my first $ in adult in 1989 and online in 1994 :-)

I made my first freesite in October 2004. Got my first check early December and have since then consistently made enough money to cover my $19.95/month virtual hosting account. I'll soon be launcing my own LL (stay tuned) so I hope to be able to upgrade to a $39.95/month plan by the end of the year. :D

I was doing programming starting in 1998 (been programming since approx 1994) for adult companies and making ok money on the side, started full time making great money in 2001. Keeps getting bigger, more money programming, more money on the link lists. Now I primarily work for 1 company full time programming and run my sites as well.

Wow that is a real old school resume. Seemed like lots of the names who were big in adult when I started talked about coming from audiotext/videotext backgrounds.

I dicked about for a year or so as a very part time hobby, but I started trying to make money in late 98 and have been sitting in my underwear at home full time since mid 99 :)

Useless 2005-03-17 08:48 AM

I've been doing this since 01. But I don't make any money doing it. I never have. |cry|

Ann Omness 2005-03-17 09:36 AM

I started getting my first checks for online porn in 1990. I started running a BBS in 1988 because I was addicted to an online game called Tradewars and the only other local BBS that ran the game was closing down. In 1990, I bought some adult content for the BBS and started charging a subscription. When the Internet started getting popular in 1994, I sold the BBS for $6,000 and concentrated on my mainstream career in the corporate world. In January of 1999, I started making websites for Adult Check, and five months later, I quit my two day jobs. I've been working at home ever since.

Started in 98 and worked part time about 2-3 hours a day until 2000 when I increased the working hours to 8 hours a day and still kept my day job just to make sure everything is going in the right direction. In 2002 I left my day job and this has been my only job :D
