But usually driving around I use my Jeep Unlimited - more fun and if I go on long trips I put on the hard top.

That thing is a beast Linkster |thumb

What's the tow capacity on that monster ... 14 or 15k?

Linkster 2006-03-06 02:11 PM

Actually have a 40 ft 5th wheel I put on it thats 20k loaded - and it has no trouble with it :) - used to use a 250 to try and pull it but it wasnt as stable as this one - sure helps having those extra two wheels

I ditched mine after I realized that I paid more in parking fines than gas every month (and gas in Sweden is NOT cheap). Sucks living in the middle of the city.
So nowadays I stick to a great pair of shoes, my MTB and car rentals when I need to go further than my bike can take me.

If I had no car nor truck nor motorcycle, I would be doing a lot of walking everyday. We are a small town and our closest grocery store is about 10 mins by car from here :) And I would have to "borrow" a shopping card and look like a bum pushing it home :) We have no mass transit.

fetish1 2006-03-07 11:55 AM

LOL Surfn, the car was a "dumped the ex and decided I deserved it" fix!

Mr Exotic 2006-03-07 11:56 AM

The family mobile is a Ford Explorer. The wife drives the wheels off that, only time I ever drive that thing is when we all go somewhere together. Then we have my old beat up trucks, and at least for one of them, when I say beat up I mean BEAT THE FUCK UP!!! hahhaa The one that is totally beat the fuck up is probably been the best vehicle to me ever, its a '82 F-150 that I got back in 2000 when I had my Trans Am, only reason I got it was because with the truck and Trans Am my insurance was 190/month, with just the Trans Am it was 360/month. So I orginally got that truck just to save on insurance. Then after I got married I had some pretty bad health problems, and everything came crashing down hard etc. Well after all that shit all were able to keep was the house and that damn truck, haha. That truck was our only vehicle for over a year I think. Never once stranded us. We even had a huge ass paper route to make ends meet for 3-4 months and that truck delivered papers 3 hours every morning 7 days a week. Then one morning on the paper route we were parked on the side of one of the business roads in town getting ready to make a couple deliveries and BAM some fucker rear ended us when we were in park and he was going 45-50. I thought the truck was totaled (my head knocked out the back plastic window). I had just had the transmission rebuilt and had new leaf springs put on it too, so I was pissed after I had just put in like 800$ into the thing I get rearended. The insurance company said we'll give ya 1400 for the truck, or you can go and see if it salvageable and keep it and we'll give ya 1100 for it. So I went to the junkyard and that fucker was still driveable, I duct taped the back window in and I drove that thing around all wrecked in and everything. It was wrecked like 3-4 years ago and that thing is still sitting in front of my house, hahaha. I havent drove it for months, but my brother who has all kinds of vehicle problems is always borrowing it when whatever he is driving at the moment takes a shit. He just got his camero fixed but while it was broke down he drove that truck for almost a fucking full year. I tell ya what though, after owning that truck and seeing what its been thru and how it just keeps going I am definitely sold on the "Ford Tough" slogan. Then I have my "project/fun" truck that is a '70 F100 Explorer that has a 360 big block engine. You wanna talk about BIG FAST old truck, holy shit that thing is quicker than shit and will tow just about anything you could dream of. Just got it running right last fall and then I had a brake line bust on me, gonna replace that when it warms up enough to work on it outside and hopefully have some fun with that truck this summer.

Yep, I am a redneck, hahaha.

Ha ha... no. I live in an apartment with underground parking so I wanted the sun in the pics. Drove up the road to the nearby shopping complex.

Yep, I'm 5'9" and there's plenty of leg room but not much more spare head room... pretty quick though. And room for 2 average size adults in the back.
