Paul that’s where you and I differ. I don’t think it’s fair to pass the consequences of my business decision onto others who are innocent in the whole matter. My decision my loss. The same goes for a Webmaster. If he purchases crap content and he looses members because of it I wouldn’t expect him to turn to the provider and blame him. His business decisions his loss.

Maybe it’s because I am a Webmaster with my own pay sites that I can see both sides. If I as a Webmaster purchased content from a provider and was then told by someone else that I must charge back and then repurchase I would never do business with either of them again. Why you ask? Because I am busy and I don’t have the time to waste because you or any other producer has been screwed.

I do agree that a broker or producer that screws another should be dealt with legally as well as on boards like this. So in a nutshell you and I agree but we only disagree about the way we treat webmasters.

I agree with paul and nobody is passing this onto the webmaster I did this thread as a warning not to buy lace content and only remarked that if he is issuing licences illegally then you should all be aware of it, I have no intentions of stiffing any webmasters but at the same time we should all stick together on a matter like this and yes I own paysites too so understand where you are coming from on that point too. Yes I made a bad business decision and fuck me for making it, but as I understood it David Lace had been around for a long time and sold plenty of content, but he sure aint a good guy and when you get stiffed and u will u might apprecate a bit of back up rather than a dont pass it on to me attitude, you see legaly its simple when you talk about licences to use someones copyrighted material a licence is granted by the personwho owns copyright or on his/her behalf by someone like Lace and if the contract between his/her and someone like lace is void then they have no legal right issuing a licence so it is void and f the shit hit the fan then anyone who bought a licence from lace would indeed be sitting there without a licence, just because you paid good money for it dont make it legal, but no one has said that the shit is goona hit the fan I just want a bit of help to stop this twat doing this again

By telling webmasters to charge back is making it their problem

that if he is issuing licences illegally then you should all be aware of it

Making webmasters aware of DL's not paying is a good thing but the licenses aren't illegal because DL didn't pay you. Once again if I buy a car from a BMW dealer and the BMW dealer doesn't pay BMW USA then BMW USA can't tell me that my purchase of the car is illegal. BMW USA kicks the dealers butt. The problem with our kind of business is that each country has different interpretations of the law and hopefully DL's license stipulates USA/State.

David Lace had been around for a long time and sold plenty of content, but he sure aint a good guy and when you get stiffed and u will u might apprecate a bit of back up rather than a dont pass it on to me attitude

I have been stiffed out of over $10k and I honoured every license to the webmasters that purchased the sets from the thief. So yes I will continue with my "don't pass it on attitude" forever.

I sent you a PM letting you know that I support you and if there is anything I can do to help let me know. Because I don't agree with you and Paul on an issue doesn't mean I don't back you up when DL's is stealing from you.

you see legaly its simple when you talk about licences to use someones copyrighted material a licence is granted by the personwho owns copyright or on his/her behalf by someone like Lace and if the contract between his/her and someone like lace is void then they have no legal right issuing a licence so it is void and f the shit hit the fan then anyone who bought a licence from lace would indeed be sitting there without a licence

NotThatKevin,

I really respect you and your point of view re webmasters, chargeback etc.

I hope you don't mind me quoting just a part of your post on another board where this is a popular theme these days.

Thank you digifan and I don't mind you posting this thread on other boards :)

Thanks Kevin I do appreciate your support, and I really dont have any intention of not honouring any of the licences that exist.

Legally I will take him to court if not for the money but for the principal of the matter but after hearing lots of rumours of his intentions as far as his company goes I need to make sure that I can make it stick legally otherwise its throwing good money after bad.

I just think that if shits like this can run around doing stuff like this, and judging from the comments on this thread this is not his first time, then they should be stopped and if that means us all getting together and taking the message to the whole adult community then yes I could do with a bit of help with that, and any way that anyone could help on that front would be appreciated

NotThatKevin 2004-01-26 02:31 PM

eyesore bri the only way I can think of helping other than posting on webmaster boards is if you setup a PayPal account or something and the producers like myself and Paul sent you a few $'s to help with the legal costs :)

eyesore bri 2004-01-26 05:56 PM

Thanks Kevin
thats a really nice gesture and your help is much appreciated, maybe for starters if we hit all the boards he might take notice and if he doesnt then legal action is the way to go and all donations would be gratefully received but hopefully we wont need to go there. I will open up threads on all the boards but will need a bit of help on the best boards to start with etc so any ideas on where to post first or indeed any ideas on a plan of attack would be good as lots of heads are better than the one and if it stops this guy shitting on people then it will benefit us all

Eysesore Brian..

As I'm also in the Uk I tried to contact you on ICQ.. Yet you didn't reply to my question..

Are you normally that rude ??

GFY is the place to start, then AWI, Porn City, *******, Adult Insider, Xbiz and of course here which is already covered. not sure about the benefits of writing to his CC processor, but that might work as well.

Actually, if you sold goods to DL for a price, and did not get paid, then the contract of sale is potentially invalid, which may not give him the right to resell that content or relicense it.

I would suggest that you send him a registered letter to that effect: You have failed to fulfill the contract we agreed to for this content, therefore I am revoking your license for it. You must now contact anyone you sold this content to and inform them that they are no longer licensed for use on this content.

That might change things a bit.

Lensman also does not like links to other boards, I find it best to put up the whole story.

Not stepping on my toes the more coverage the better as far as I am concerned as long as it stops people like him stuffing genuine people like us
