While I am in Canada and not directly subject to the 2257 rules, I am an indirect victim. As a number of sponsors have pulled or instructed webmasters to remove their content, I am in the process of reviewing sites that I own. There are many. It's going to take a while. It is also a very good time to rationalize certain things I own and make sure they are still what they should be.

Anyway, if things go 404 or whatever, well, sorry. For the most part they are going to a TGP I own, no consoles, no bullcrap.

Gonna take this opportunity to do some house cleaning...get some drive space back...and clear out some old ugly stuff I don't even wanna admit I built :D

Most of the sites are very old and pulling little to no traffic from link lists, so I'll be sending to the root of my link list. Very clean...no consoles or nasty stuff.

Those are the only two I used for LL submissions. I'll be using htaccess to redirect to a basic 404 page...I was considering 404ing it to my tgp, but I've asked around and it might piss some people off...so I've decided to just do a clean 404...as I submit more to TGP's and most likely will get blacklisted if I redirect :D

Due to the new rules coming from affiliate programs and the FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) around the changes to 2257, I'll be removing free sites and galleries from the following domains:

As much as I hate to do this some time this evening the free sites on free-porn4u.com are going to 404. They will not redirect or anything like that just won't be there. I will start submitting free sites soon as I get new content with the proper documentation or if something happens where secondary producers are not required to have it at there place of bussiness. My hub has been converted to all text and will be staying online. I guess this summer I am really going to be hit with a summer slow down.

Because I havent put compliance notices everywhere yet and are in a rush I may one of those Dave is talking about, I will check soon. I am removing sites so they go 404 but havent checked all my 404 pages.

My understanding from reading the first post of this thread (Greenguy's post) is that most Linklists will not be blacklisting for 404 or 302. Of course, as always, you're certainly free to do whatever you want with your linklist.

Since it would be nearly impossible to contact all of the TGPs and Linklists I submit to invidually I kind of expected that these domains will be useless for using for free sites or galleries ever again anyhow.

I have just put all of my sites back online :)

And Airdick isnt just redirecting to that one site - all of his sites are redirecting to different sponsors sites - but then so are a half dozen other WMs that are regulars around here

On domains that I have no listings and no traffic from link sites, I am redirecting those to sponsors. For sites that have past listings or other, I am sending them either to a generic 404 page or to a non-CJ / no popup TGP I run. They all clealry go either 302 or 404 as a result.

Pulling sites that have active listings and redirecting them to a sponsor, especially one with exit consoles is, well, not really the best idea.

Build a landing page for that sponsor. Redirect the the landing page.

I guess if some of you guys that listed my stuff really have a problem with the 302s I can change to a generic 404 page or something instead of using niche-specific 302s. Maybe I can come up with some rules to cream off the search engine traffic first and let the rest of it 404.

Actually doesnt really matter in the big scheme of things - which is why Im putting everything back online :) Just because you take it down doesnt keep you from getting inspected - you still have to have the records for 5 years after you take it down so its kinda stupid to go through the motions now :)

The very best way to pull everything is to have a 404 page that explains why the pages were pulled. I've seen some nice ones today. ;) Just a quick statement about how much GW sucks and below it a sponsor ad. No redirection.

One should only redirect if they have no qualms with being banned. No matter the situation, it's still pretty shady because the surfers aren't getting what was promised. Surfers don't blame the unknown redirecting webmaster. They blame link lists and TGPs for not having clean listings.

why would you have to have records if you had no sites up when the new regs start being used wouldnt you only need what was required by the old regs not records at your place of business.

I'm not one of the big guys. Just ask them, they'll tell you. From my understanding, some sites have integrated bots that automagically pull bad links, but not all. Most of us run different bot programs that just report, but can't pull anything. That's all done manually while referring to the bot's report. So bad links stay up until we can get around to running the bot.

Mine only gets run when I want to and I can select all it finds and delete them. I go through them all first cos there is usually a few where it says theres no recip and there is, dunno why. Thats with the recip checker bot, and with the dead link bot I ususually check one from each domain 1st too.
Usually I do this every few weeks but I have done it today and will again tomorrow.

First and foremost, I want to thank all the link sites that have listed my work for so long...it's very much appreciated :)

I downed a lot of domains...primarily because of sponsors that wanted banners yanked. These were all old sites...at least a year...most much older than that. Unfortunately, when the sites were built...banner calls were hard coded. I simply did not have time to go through and pull everything manually...hence downing the domains. These domains are redirecting to the root of my link site...clean...no consoles...nothing nasty. I DID check server logs and very little link list traffic was flowing to these sites.

All my newer sites are a bit more automated and I was able to pull banners without affecting the sites much...other than they're not quite so purty :D

I have about a dozen sites that were using sponsor content. These are relatively new sites...using sponsor content was an experiment...would never do it again for many reasons. In any case, again because sponsors want all their promo pulled...I've simply deleted the content from these sites. The sites remain intact otherwise...and I'll be prepping and uploading new content to them tomorrow. Frankly, my eyes feel like they're filled with sand...I'm tired...and simply can't hang anymore tonight.

Sooo, that's it for this porn slinger...what a pain in the ass this has been. Given my current exhausted state of mind...don't think I'll go into my thoughts on all the programs that gave in on this thing so easily. Their actions or lack thereof made more work than the damn regs |dizzy|

All this despite the fact I know the new DOJ regs are almost certainly legally invalid as applied to secondary producers, and will be struck down in the 10th Circuit soon.

While I am not removing sites I have taken down any sponsor content I had which fortunately is not alot and am in the process of weeding out temporarily any other content or ad materials that are called into question for the time being. This of course will effect some free sites and galleries on some of my domains. Any 404`s are being tamed to accomodate. I decided to just yank my freesites and 404 them to my LL, rather than just pull images only, as I did not want to become blacklisted, so I hope this is better for all LL owners.
