2 great games today but the refs suck ass

The second yellow card for Lucic (or what's his name lol) in Germany-Sweden was totally uncalled for and Argentina deserved a red card in the first half but got away with yellow..

I totally agree with that Argentina call. An obvious late tackle from the front. Hell, even a well timed tackle from the front where the cleats are off the ground usually gets a red. That ref did seem interested in letting the players play unlike the USA/Italian game where it seems the ref should have been suspended the second time for inconsistencies.

The Lucic was a bit early to give him the 2nd yellow but there was a great acting job around it and from the refs view it looked pretty rough. I can understand why it got him another card although I would understand not giving him the card as well.

Yes, second card for Lucic sucked big time, very nice of the ref with a big fucking smile. |shocking| NO CARD! Saw at least 10 other things that should have been cards.

But anyhow, Sweden did not deserve to win when they play like shit. 0-2 after 12 min... WTF!

I thought England was going to mop up Ecuador but I'm not so sure at the 1/2. I bet Ecuador will score in the last 15 minutes of the game to make it an exciting match.

Damn! Ecuador looked like poop the 2nd half and that's when I thought they'd really come on. Beckmen's free kick was beautiful.

Sorry, added: we didn't play brilliantly, but we done enough, although I'll go along with others, we need to improve drastically to have a chance of winning the tournament. Argentina look the safest $$$ by a long shot. Very strong, and certainly skilful enough.

Portugal-Holland was a real thriller, shame about the foul play on both sides, I don't think I ever saw so many yellow and red cards in one game.

I think the ref was simply trying to keep control of two very emotional teams. The game started with a very aggressive tackle to the groin area that would have pulled a red card from many refs. USA got a red card for far less. :(

Portugal got beat up badly in this match and Maniche pulled a red card so we won't see him next game. That means my money will be on England even though they lacked excitement today.

This last match was more for the hockey fans.

Seems a lot has happened over the weekend. I already missed 4 of the 1/8 finals because I was a some music festival .The only thing I heard was a loud "Hurray" when the festival announcer announced holland was going home (the everlasting Belgium vs. Holland soccer cold war :) ). But 20 cards?? I think that ref has blown his whistle for the last time this tournament.

ouch ... don't go on that money conspiracy thing please. I admit, mistakes have being made (I mean about the refs) but come on ...take European championship last year! Greece won!?!? Was that fixed!?
Don't get me wrong but I think the quality of the ref depends on good matches they were in ... now I really can't explain Ivanov and Germ Pol (the one that gave 3 yellows to same guy at Croatia-ausies game) they should be experienced and top European refs but then again they did what they did ....
... as for Italians - like every damn world cup they always seams to slip through ... but if nothing else they'll stop with Germany or Argentina ... hopefully

... and I'm happy my Ukrainian brothers passed my birth country Swiss (although it was pretty boring match and ukra. played like pussies)!!!

... and I can't wait today's Brazil-Ghana and Spain-France .. two matches that should be all about football ... hopefully, although they have by far the best team, Brazil will lose (they have become just too cocky for my taste) and although they didn't show much I'll cheer for France!

Up until that ridiculous bullshit call by the spanish ref that GAVE the Italians the victory, I honestly thought that this WC was something special. But I see that nothing has changed. Its all fixed, as usual.
