Think about it - you run a program & you want to take care of your affiliates by throwing a party. Why the fuck would you want AVN to advertise it & let every fucknut with a badge in for free food & booze? Send out an email or some passes with the checks & you're good to go |thumb |
GG - I totally agree - what I was wondering was if AVN themselves would be running the dining rooms like they did in Fla for floor badge holders - basically since they had the run of the hotel (which I noticed they are trying to get sponsors for some unusual things as well in Vegas - like toilet paper) they were able to actually serve a pretty good free breakfast and lunch in the large ballrooms - but figure since they dont have the complete run of the hotel in Vegas - it seemsthat they would have trouble justifying the cost of the badges being higher

"Greenguy & Jim Toilet Paper" does have a nice ring to it :)

maybe that's where you got the rotten crouch?

Not being a party person, and pretty shy about inviting myself to webmaster gatherings, I can't say as the Vegas Internext trip is worthwhile. Other than the great deals on accommodation the past few years...which appear to have dried up this time around...and the pure fun of visiting Vegas for a couple of days, I can think of dozens of places I'd rather spend the $$$ |
I don't understand the timing.. i mean really if they have to hold one in August.. then hold Vegas 6 months later.. not 4 months..
February or march would give new programs time to gather resources and get booths..certainly would be Cheaper when we aren't covered with CES and i understand AVN being held at the same time as CES to cover the 128k wankers in one place is hard to ignore. But you no sooner get back from Florida than you have to start diverting resources for Vegas..and it's right after the holiday when people are short cash anyway..and like retail our most lucrative times are from Oct to Feb when everyone is huddled inside. Plus the weather here SUX in january.. Last year our rooms in the Luxor were flooded.. we had to move to the tower because we had 9 inches (which is always a good thing!!) of rain that week. oh well.. as long as i'm here, Party on, Dude.. |headbang| |
Useless, don't listen to Torn. He's just sick of everyone ditching him when he's there.
It's always a good time. The drinking, the parties, the networking, seeing friends you only see once or twice a year.... No Jim. No Torn. Need I say more. If I have a pull out sofa in my suite, you're welcome to crash on that for a few nights to cut your costs down. (This offer only applies to Useless.) |

Doc, more money is made off the video / public show in a single year than has ever been made off of all the webmaster shows in the last 5 years, I am sure. Just think of all the lookie-loos coming through the door at $25 a head... it's amazing. Alex |
Useless: It's pretty easy to get a free or reduced floor pass. If there is a program that you push with some heart, they may pick up your pass for you. Also, booth owners receive a few extra passes free, and are able to purchase extras at a very reduced rate. Find a booth owner and ask them to put you on their list- you should be able to get your pass for $50 then.

it's funny but Adultcon and autograph signing are here at the same time as SEMA/AAPEX (the auto aftermarket show) which has just about 120K attendees in November. Directly across from the LVCC.. what's amusing is all the booty shorts girls from the booths running across to the Rivera/Sahara at 5pm to get "noticed" by the adult movie company reps. Guess I'll Schlep Chyna to both this year.. SEMA for fortune and Adultcon to get fame.... |
