ExtremeJohn's gonna order us the basic bar package - which is a huge ripoff at $1000 but is actually nevessary if you want to properly run a suite party - which leaves $200 for Sherm to use to buy some extra beer & booze :)

As far as how we're going to meet up, I haven't figured that out yet :(

Cleo not sure if you ever been to the Venetian, but there is a booze store less then a block away, so no car is needed. The prices where high but not that bad IMHO

GG, we are running into the same issue with the room for the retreat, my suggestion there was to post phone #'s of 5 or 6 plp to tell what room # it will be.

Also we will be updating the party page the day we get there so plp who have access there will find out on their own, so I'd say less then 1/4 of the people who want to go will actually call to ask.

Neither idea is perfect, but neither is meeting at a certain spot at a certain time, plp will be late and then miss out of all of it

I haven't been to Vegas in 20 years. They didn't have amusement park rides and kids when I was there last. :D

Anyway just trying to make myself useful. ;) I was the booze, ice, and munches runner at the Miami one and don't drink so I'm usually the driver. I guess it makes up for being the boring sober woman. LOL

Actually I got a package that included a rental car so that I could do a little sight seeing after the convention. I been all over the United States a few times and have stayed in just about all the large national parks and many of the smaller ones, even taken the Hover Dam tour speaking of being in Vegas. I miss the beauty of the west, especially the mountains and hills. Anyway this looks close by so I'm going to check it out.

Cleo, went to Red Rock when I was in Vegas in September. It is only about 30 mintues from the strip and worth the effort to see it. Lots of hiking, bike riding and rock climbing going on when I was there.

Now that is my idea of a party. :)

I love to travel as well, this is our second trip to Las Vegas and actually I'm not a big fan of it, I would rather drive to the Grand Canyon and Zion National park. That's been the plan for the last 8 years or so now lol.

We have our house for sale and are trying to move to Florida, so this trip isn’t the best idea we have had in a while, but oh well.

The Grand Canyon and Zion National park are awesome. I've camped on both the south and north rim. Did a little horse back riding, but didn't do the two day trip to the bottom. IMHO the north rim is nicer since it is much less crowded. Zion is one the most beautiful places that I have ever stayed. There is a canyon there that I hiked where they wouldn't let you hike if it was going to rain. I can't remember the name, but remember the sheer black walls on each side, it was really awesome.

PS: I was a whole lot older then a child on my previous visits to Vegas, but the child in me now is looking forward to riding some roller coasters now. ;)

Someone asked about guests etc. Basically the Venetian Suite's are good for 50 people, we have 10 staff members that will be there, after that, whatever works, and if there's an overflow it can spill into one of our other suites.
