One of my closest friends is Russian and I would have to say that in the day, he knew more about this business than anyone I have ever met. The only time I have a problem with poor English is when I can't figure out what the person is trying to say :) But most times I can figure it out.

That being said, nobody will be allowed to promote another board on this board. Not in an avatar. Not in a sig file that goes to a page that when clicked goes to a page that has a link saying "Back to Adult Webmaster Message Board". Once I was pissed at Cleo for not accepting one of my free sites and just then I realised what she was doing and that she was right. I said to myself "what if it was my business", so yeah, the right thing to do in this case is just shut up and move on, I agree.

The main issue here's that people are accusing a whole nation, something that I myself have to deal with on a daily basis, cause I'm living in a country from the East European block. I did just have a Russian doctor do tendon surgery on my hand. Probably not a good example since the surgery was not successful and he refused to operate again since my insurance doesn't want to pay him as much as he feels he should get.

I honestly had no idea Yahook or anyone else was Russian prior to this thread - I don't review as much as I used to & rarely look at whois info or IP's or anything like that.

That being said, it seems I'm not exactly liked by a majority of Russian webmasters & to be honest, I really don't give a fuck as they have no effect on my bottom line what-so-ever.

What I was trying to say is that we had no choice, no options. Making things the way they were was caused by the communism aparat and we were it's victims.

Many people are still with them, cause they don't have the money to change them and what you should know about them is that they're solid, they last for decades without a scratch. That was also part of the aparat - making ugly shits that do the job. That way they were manipulating the block that commi means good, cause it lasts forever and were killing the people's vanity and their desire for new cool stuff. The opposite of captilism, where people are manipulated to buy shit that they don't need.

Not all russians are cheaters. Not all people found guilty of murder are in fact murderers. Everyone gets a speeding ticket they don't deserve.

Link site owners for the most part don't want to spend all the time required to sort out "good from shit". We need to spend our time wisely to make sure that we give our surfers a quality product that they will come back to see regularly, and tell their friends about our lists.

They won't have a very good opinion of us if they end up with a toolbar, a vrius, or a back door on their system because of my listings.

They won't be happy if they go to a free site, click a thumb, and get 32 consoles.

They won't be happy if every other listing on my site turns into a redirect 2 days later.

They won't be happy if I don't give them what I promise. In order to do that, I have to list sites from reputable programs and reliable webmasters. I have to choose who is reliable and who is not. I can't spend all day to find 50 good sites. I need to be able to review them and get on with the other work I have to do.

So I block bots, I block free hosts, I block bartered hosts, and yes, I block most submits from certain countries to avoid issues.

What pisses me off (and causes me to be even more likely to block shit) is when these same webmasters that get their sites declined turn aorund and try to hide their shit in some manner and try to sneak onto my lists again to steal traffic.

Sadly, for some decent and honest webmasters, you get fucked over because you are surrounded by dishonest, cheating assholes and often close to or near CP and credit card scams. I can't even take the chance to find out if you are honest, I can't open the door even a crack without having to deal with the 40 pounds of shit that will come with it.

Yahook, you and your group of "friends" prove without a doubt that you have no clue of the difference between right and wrong, just the difference between "caught" and "getting away with it". Anyone even getting close to what you are working on I have to assume has the same approach, and as a result, I react the same way.

Actually, saying you can't do anything about that is not very true. If you cared about this, you would have redirected all submitters coming from banned hosts/countries to a page saying that they require a "special" account. That way they can get here, show samples and eventually get approval. That's the way all of us get accounts when required with reviews. After this you can ban the sucker and all of his sites if he's a cheater. You have problems with proxies? I can hook everyone of you with script that collects high anonymity proxies from free servers and shit. I can also give you a fine PHP func that will tell you if the surfer's using a transparent proxy. This is so fucking easy. The whole system can be done in a few days. Although, nobody cares - it's your call anyway and I have no problem with that, but please, don't say there isn't anything to do.

Yes, this is EXACTLY why I have moved to partner accounts. I no longer want to have to just "hope" that good people submit to me, but rather that I have a list of good people that I know will submit good sites to me. Partner accounts solve the issue for everyone involved.

As I said, I am tired of wading through an acre of shit to find a small sliver of gold. I am charging a little for my time, and I will weed out the good from the bad soon enough. I suspect my surfers will be happy, and increases in bookmarks and such will continue.
