They make the sections in different parts of France, and put it together in a small town, they have to ship the sections on rivers, then drive them on roads through small towns, it’s unreal how big these sections are and how tight the spaces they are moving it through.
They go under a bridge with less then 5' space and between buildings with less room. They also will have showers and maybe a gym….. geeze….. |
I bet the terrorists are really looking forward to flying one of these babies fully fueled.

The Science channel had a documentary on developing this plane. It holds so many people that they had to figure out a new way to load and unload the plane.
|
I saw that too -- they had this giant funnel that they poured people into... with a meat grinder at the bottom.
Seating capacity was 555, but with the funnel/grinder method, Delta claimed they could put 1555 people on board. Reconstitution at the destination not included. --Delta, We'd love to fly, but who knows. |
How are the airlines always crying poverty, but still have enough pocket change to build things like that? I'm personally not flying on that until John Travolta gives it the thumbs up.

I heard AVN was going to increase their rates by another 50% and move both shows to Branson, Missouri. :) |

Remember who ordered it. Branson. Has Branson even come close to not being profitable with his airlines? Only once -- and he raised prices, added services, and is profitable. If Boeing did its job and listened, you'll see some of their new handiwork (and not the 777), on the current carrier routes which will reduce fuel costs. And remember, flying 555 people across the pond in one plane is much cheaper than flying them in two trips -- and possibly having empty seats. |
I wouldn't like to be in range when they dump the crap from the toilets.

The clues are there. Internext @ 60,000 feet... and no surprise visits from the Feds eh? |
I would never get on that thing. Has Titanic written all over it..

I think UPS ordered 10 of them -- without seats.

They do that with cruise ships already -- perhaps Branson is going to turn his 555 seat airline into a huge flying island non-tax jurisdiction. |

Same thing, wise guy :D

No it's not.
UPS is only three letters and FedEx is five letters. |potleaf| |
