I want a job
Hire me.
I'd expect pay commensurate with my skills. In other words, I'm cheap. I really want a company car, preferably one with a popular brewery decal on each side. Something with extensive European travel would be great. There was a point at which I could speak German at the Kindergarten or first grade level, but now I'm more along the lines of a toddler, just learning to toddle. Ich habe eine Panne. Bitte mir ein Schleppwagen anrufen! |
Are you serious or is this just a Useless post?
|
Both. I'm a tad mixed up right now. I'm considering leaving the industry, but at the same time I'd simply hate to give up all the work that I have put in to it. It's just not panning out.
|
It takes time to get to a point where you are happy. If you hang in there through the rough times and keep plugging away, you will thank yourself later on :)
We all go through rough times every now and then. It may be financially, whiny submitters, boredom and everything else that can happen in this crazy business. Just look at what your goals are (personal and business) and see if they go hand in hand. If they don't, then you have your answer. But if they do, then it's just to hang in there. Take a break and when you get back do some brain storming and maybe you will come up with another angle to go about doing things? Good luck what ever you choose :) PS. Get your own car, call up the brewing company and tell them that you love them and that you are willing to put ads on your car if they pay you enough - voila! Now you got a free car ;) |
I know that sometimes it can be frustrating talking to friends that have no relation to this industry, other than being on the surfer side ;)
So if you need someone that can see it from this perspective my icq is 252081. |
Like swedguy says. Feel free to step away. But don't throw it away.
Keep what you have already so you have something to come back to. Of coarse I would rather see you not go at all... |
things are always darkest before it is pitch black.
:) Having been where you are many times throughout my life, I can say that usually you just need to regroup, refocus, and learn from your mistakes. I'm on month 26 of my reworking my life. Choices I've made over the last few years have made it difficult, but, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and this time its not an oncoming train. Probably more of an SUV or 18-wheeler. haha Keep your head up. Things are bound to turn soon. |

it does help to interact with your fellow/fellowette wm even if it is only thru Hoo or Q. maybe a few sessions of on the couch er bench will give you new prospective or new thought process to jumpstart your view again. and besides you can't leave, you're the "everyman" of the board.. the "greek chorus" ..the Bill Mahr of Porn.. |king| |
Would you feel better if I sent you $175? |couch|

Keep at it in some way :) It's hard to get things to pan out sometimes..
Sometimes a little thing like "It's easier to get 10 hits to 1000 sites than it is to get 1000 hits to 10 sites." can be very encouraging to think of. |
You guys are the best. You really are. That's why I hang my hat here at GG&Jim's porn palace and 1 hour dry cleaning emporium.
I'm not giving in just yet, just pondering my options. Some days I find it particularly difficult to ride the waves. This has been one of those days. Just seems that every time I think that my income is growing from a trickle to a stream, someone up river builds the dam higher. I try to remind myself that everyone goes through this, but I'm so damn good at feeling sorry for myself, I sometimes get swept away in the moment.:D Thanks for the encouragement. Now get back to work! Hey GG- do you think Lensman would hire me? I think it's time that he got someone with personality in the office. |
I will say that sales for January have been disappointing. This has been surprising since December was a record month.
Hang in there :) |
Cleo
Same here. |
"Patience is the art of idling your motor, when you wish you could strip your gears" :D
|
Useless, howlong have you been in the industry if you don't mind me asking? As for January, I set a new record for sales and income, but that's not really saying too much. :D
|
UW, just sent you a pm.

Since then, my beloved whoringwives.com has been a paysite, a swinger's resource site, a really poorly planned hub, and many incarnations of a TGP. I had an interesting ICQ chat with a newbie a while back who wanted to know the key to my success. That's when I let him know I that I am not an success by any means. "Oh, but you seem to know so much" That is when I fall back on the old saying - Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach.:D |

Yes I do. Most of the money I have made is off of free sites. But it is far from being a steady income. |
Hehe Useless..
You gave me a good laugh, thanks. Howmany freesites would you say you have? The reason I'm asking, is because I'm just now approaching 100 freesites for myself, and am just now starting to see some sales start to add up. And I should add, I'm nowhere near where I want to be. :D But, I think it will take several hundred if not a thousand or more freesites to be able to sit back and relax a little bit IMO. Keep your head up man, and don't give another thought to giving in! |
hey Useless.. head up... haven't you noticed we start these doleful 'my worst month in biz' threads each month and everyone allways agree? it's just the way it goes but we all are still here.. have a beer or two and get back to work you lazy bastard :)
|
GG, you can send me 175 if it makes you feel better. :)

Hi UW,
Keep your chin up :D Easier said than done I know, and I'll agree with Cleo & Ramster, December was my best ever, and January sucked ass. So far Feb is shit, although we are only into a few days of it so I'm not overly worried JUST yet, although I've taken up a friend's offer of 2 weeks manual work to get back on track. Hope it pans out OK for you, and you stay in the biz. As you say, 2/3 years input is a lot to walk out on. I don't know if you are in the position to, but this year has opened my eyes up to the 'put some away for a rainy day' philosophy, and when I get back on a good run I'll be doing that instead of my usual mantra 'hey let me see how fast I can spend all this' :D |
I know what you feel man and I am in the same boat.. And Many times I have thought of giving up but I will allways Keep my hosting up and if your not making enough go get a job and what you make there and online should be enough to keep things ok.. free sites are just a small part of what it takes to make money.. you should have LL maybe a tgp and try adwords on some soild things and most important you have to submitt daily and if your tgp is not making anything just put it on the back burner and do something that you made money at before.. And think of it like this if you can double your traffic and the number of free sites you have - in turn you should double your money.. And I am not really making enough either but I am in a different position than you maybe..
