Submit Passes at Tommys Bookmarks
I am gonna have to raise the price of my submit pass
right now I am a little over full with submits and I am still selling around 5 passes a day so the way I see it I have 2 choices just stop selling them and tell new submiters we are not accepting new submiters or raise the price so they dont sell as well (supply and demand) I promised webmasters that bought the pass that I would list their stuff if the current trend continues as the submit number rises I will not be able to live up to my obligations I was thinking of raising the price to 150.00, maybe 200.00 I am hoping for some input |
Well from my experiences with your tgp traffic so far even at $200 it would seem to be a bargain. I haven't made many galleries for your site yet but those that have been listed converted very well. Might seem kinda steep for someone not familiar with your traffic though.

Honestly I think you should go to a monthly plan. If not then $150-200 a year is fair. A year that being, not lifetime.
|
Someone's theory is that you have to spend money to make money. Two hundred dollars is still a little above my price range but that doesn't eman I wouldn't spend it to be listed on your site.

Hi Tommy.
Alot of the sites selling partner accounts have a waiting list now. (Although they are selling the passes on a month to month basis) Have them sign up for a waiting list, and if your submissions start to drop you can bring a few new guys in that were on the list. |
if it was me, i would stop accepting new submissions for awhile. you know you have good submitters right now, and second, you don't know how 2257 is going to affect the number of future submissions.
|
Sounds fair enough to me - we have been very happy with the current price and will continue to use your service even if you increase the price.
|
Tommy you have one of the best Traffic/Dollar ratios in the business. I doubt anyone would object to you raising your already incredible price on it.
:) |
I think that monthly is the way to go. This gives you a bit of flexibility, should someone misbehave, or you decide to change your requirements. You probably don't want only the same handful of submitters for an entire year.
|
I would just stop accepting new submitters, as was said earlier you have to watch especially in the upcoming months what happens to a lot of US submitters.
Then go to a yearly fee like Ramster said, and do it in the 200-300 range. |
Tommy, I got back my 50 in the first post... your traffic is just about one of the best I have seen. 50 bucks is actually too cheap man (Not that I am complaining mind you lol)
|
raising the price and implementing a waiting list seems like a fair combo to me.
|
Its an normal price, i would agree with ramster an monthly price or a year price, i sawat richards realm you can buy an premium accound too for an monthly price
|
Although I was grandfathered (thanks a lot ) I always thinked the $50 you asked for the submit pass was too low.

I was a regular submitter to your site in the past. I did see some very nice traffic and I did get some sales, but not enough for me to spend $200. I havent purchased a submit pass from you since you started offering them because I do not use epassporte and you do not accept anything else. I actually havent visited your site since then.
I think you could get away with charging up to $200 for a submit pass. some people are willing to pay anything to get a listing nowadays! But I honestly think monthly would be the way to go. I have monthly submit passes with many other sites and what they do is simple, they choose a certain number of galleries for that day then all others either sit there for a bit or go directly to archives. I get many sales from archive traffic, in most cases more than the original front page listing. So, my two cents... I would suggest that you paycom (or whichever) and charge a monthly fee. Good luck. |
when you get it figured out Tommy I may be buying one. i was all set for the 50 pass but i guess i gotta hold off to see what happens :)
|
Monthly might be the way to go, but then you have to police the list, remove people who didn't pay, deal with emails from people who forgot to pay, and you might end up making more work for yourself. You'd have the same issue with yearly fees but to a lesser extent.
I think $150 or $200 for your traffic is perfectly fair :) |
I dont really wanna start recurring webmasters
and this way with the life time passes are easy A lot of em buy the pass and submit for awhile then get involved in something else Doug E: you can buy one now if you want Greenie: people are still gonna build gallerys and sites maybe some of the us webmasters might move to softer stuff but I think most of em are just gonna file the docs and go about their buisness Like I said, I just wanna slow things down for awhile |
yeah Tommy still accepts orders. however he cannot receive more money today :) just tried to send him the $50. I'll try again in the morning I guess...
|
How & where can I purchase a pass?

payment instructions are there. just got mine |bananna| Ponygirl |
I'm in!
now where the hell is that banana dude? |
Tommy, I'd like to clarify something... I have been told that my message to you was on the rude/insulting side. I did not mean to say anything negative towards you and or your traffic so please do not take it that way.
Same for anyone else reading this. Tommys-Bookmarks was good to me when I was submitting there, but I didn't have an epass account nor did I have a US account where I could write him a check... but I also just noticed that he accepts StormPay!!! Thanks |
i'd pay 200 bucks.... y not?
