ladydesigner 2006-02-17 12:12 PM

Oh my God - I'd never survive temps that cold!!

fetish1 2006-02-17 12:17 PM

LOL not sure I am going to either ladydesigner! They are trying to sell us on the fact that if the wind dies down a little it could get up to -40 windchill...it's not giving me the warm fuzzies to hold onto that!

Ramster 2006-02-17 08:31 PM

Yes it is windy as hell and cold as fuck here too.

When I went to the bank at noon today there were a ton of roads closed from the blowing snow. Damn bad weather for sure but not -64 thankfully.

MrYum 2006-02-17 10:31 PM

Holy crap! Parts fall off in that kinda weather...yikes!

And to think, I complained the other night when we fell to about 30 degrees and the frost burned my banana trees :D

Fetish1...Florida is really really nice...MOVE south!

Okay...yea, it gets kinda windy sometimes...but it's WARM :D

ronnie 2006-02-18 08:49 AM

And I thought it was cold here. The weather people were saying we were going to get a storm, and down here, every one freaks out. The grocery stores were packed, every one stocking up. The guy at the liquior store said they have sold out...lol

We did get about 3 inches last night and still snowing a little and 3 Inches is quite a bit here. We have to go out today, I am kinda looking forward to it..:)

I feel for you though Fetish1, Dont know if could do that cold.

ronnie

LOL Sparky I don't think it matters -40 or -17.777 that's friggin cold
get stuck out in weather like that and you could die or lose a nose or toes.

Fetish1 the same question always pops into my head when I hear of someone living in a climate like yours "why"

Bree 2006-02-18 09:44 PM

I think the cold is affecting your decision making skills because you would've moved by now.. when the weather gets nicer outside, you need to pack and move.

I know that right now that sounds a little crazy right now but after the weather improves you'll come to your senses...

J/K !! That's damn cold weather !! I grew up in the Snow Belt and moved south b/c I couldn't deal with the cold!!

nekrom 2006-02-18 10:28 PM

Down Under its 26 deg C or 78 Fahrenheit. I'm wearing me shorts and flip flops and about to go kick back with a cool beverage. :D

My celsius/Fahrenheit converter tells me it would better be -40°F than -40°C :D

-64° reminds me of the sexdrive of my last girlfriend...

Surfn 2006-02-19 08:24 AM

It's so cold here that when you walk on the snow it crunches |loony|

My last winter in Plymouth, Minnesota has temperatures of -50F. That was the temperature and not the wind chill.

Hmmm...engage damage control mode...

brrrr...kinda chilly...think I'll go put on a sweater :D

RedCherry 2006-02-20 01:34 AM

I grew up in a small town in Michigan, which my poor brother and sister still live within 15 miles of. The weekend before I moved from there, it was -42, and that wasn't wind chill.

Today felt horribly cold here in NV, it was in the mid 40's with the wind chill about 33....I just can't stand cold any more like I used to be able to, not sure how you guys can. Stay warm!

fetish1 2006-02-20 11:59 AM

Sir Moby, the worst I've been through here was a few years back and we hit -47 actual temp. That's why I said I really shouldn't complain but having come from VA Beach VA, I still typically start whining when it gets below and 30 and don't stop till the last snow melts.

HA MrYum, all that got you was back on the card list!! Gonna take a lot more to get back on the gift list! :D

RedCherry, funny you say that, I find that each year the cold gets to me a little more (thank goodness this really is a mild winter) but I am hoping within the next 2-3 yrs we can start thinking about heading south.

bluemoney 2006-02-20 12:44 PM

I once worked with a guy from North Dakota. He was always known for saying “sure it’s cold . . . . but 40 below keeps the riff raff out”.

fetish1 2006-02-20 01:13 PM

LOL Bluemoney, I don't know if it keeps the riff raff out, but it definately keeps me IN!
