My oldest, that I still own, was regged 12 July 1999.

I had an older one but it was owned with a 'partner', that attempt lost me money, and foolishly I let it go. Actually, it was kinda stolen from me.

Back in 98/99, freehosts were the norm, not the exception, so I did my first freesite building on freehosts, particularly sexspaces.

We were paying $100/year for domains back in the day. But, you were able to try before you buy. You would register a domain and internic would send you an invoice. If the domain sucked, you just let it go back. That was good and bad. Domains that seemed to suck back in the day are worth a fortune today.

I've always been curious why you went with the hyphenated version instead of linkorama.com, was it already taken in 97?

That actually is my 2nd oldest -- the other one I let go when Notwork Solutions started charging $70 for a two year registration for domains -- it was registered in November 93.

I'm not 100% sure, but, I believe bbn.com is one of the oldest .coms -- having been registered on April 24, 1985. Coincidentally, they also hold AS1 which is a number used for routing packets on the internet.

As for adult, I doubt I have any prior to the ultra* flameout, so, probably November 2000 which was about the time disaster hit.

However, I'll bet everyone can beat the amount of adult affiliate revenue I've made. :) Since Nov 2000, I would bet that I have probably made under $100 in adult affiliate revenue.

Because there was another site calling itself The Link-O-Rama & I was a 26 year old idiot :D

I think symbolics dot com was the first a few days before bbn - as far as .coms - the first domain ever registered under the new structure was nordu dot net

I still remember my first dot com was non adult and was when you didnt have to pay for domain names - while I owned it they changed to the pay system for $100 a yr and I dropped it when internic took over - it was a sweet name too - should have kept it.

I remember submitting my first ever freesite to you, I think it was in early december of 98, winter of 98/99 definitely, the freesite was built on sexspaces, using this crappy posing amateur babe content shot by a friend of mine, with each photo laboriously hand-scanned on a flat bed scanner that had cost me nearly $2000 the year before.

LOR looked much the same then as it does now.

I was so excited when the sextracker counter started showing hits.

JimsPlace dot com, Nov 5, 1997 - and it is still my main site. For 2 years prior to that I was hosted at a provider where I had www.provider.com/~jimsplace/ until my traffic got to be so much that they asked me to 'go away' :D
