If I were to retire tomorrow and close down my sites. Should I still be paid for the customers that still spend money on their netowrk?

They usually contact you as the reason why your traffic has dropped.

I like Jeff at VS, I didn't like their companies response.

That being said, I think it's absurd to think that any large entity wouldn't screw a non-active affiliate out of their commission if they believed there would be little or no repercussions. Again, I'm not saying it's right, but that's how it is.

Will I pull my few VS ads, dunno...I want to see how this plays out when tempers start to settle down because like I said earlier I like Jeff. :(

Just makes me think after 10 years of being an adult web developer, lifetime recur means just that, not a few years.

I remember back in the day Pornication used to make me a lot of money until they went under and I lost a big chunk of my revenue.

Lynx was initially developed in 1992 - I myself have been around longer, but it beat me online by 4 years.

I don't send them a lot of traffic but I can see from my stats that I have users that have been buying for 3 years now. That makes them reliable in my book.

Bullshit, you posted this just to get either a link over there or to troll for support of VS.
There are also people emailing webmasters about this VS thread in question which makes me think that's what you are trying to do with your post on this board.
So like I said in my first reply, this is just a very unclever way to try to get people to check out the other thread on the other board.

You should have just started a thread openly stating that VS had quit paying a webmaster after he lost contact with them and once he re-established contact they had cancelled his account for lack of activity.

Then we could have given you our opinions on the matter without feeling jerked around by a leading question on a subject most didn't know anything about in the first place.

Someone likes to feel important because they know something others may not :)

Seems like VS harden up their position and will not payout.

Also, I don't think they are offering lifetime anymore. Going over their TOS it basically says they can pull your account at any time(you should get a lawyer to translated for you).

Just hate seeing a webmaster being screwed in this way.

I think alot of programs have that in there somewhere that they can end your account for any number of reasons..all be it mostly would be violation of TOS.

I guess I'm going to have to contact about 200+ programs now, and figure out which ones have a true lifetime recurring. I wouldn't want to waste time and money building a recurring income for retirement, only to have some asshat kill it off because I retired, and stopped sending traffic.|club|
