LL Recips are getting huge
 

anyone else notice that some LL owners seem to be trying to get more and more text into their recips!! Some starting to look like 1/4 page ad's

I've noticed the same thing. I just don't submit to lists that require that huge garbage. 200x72 or 200x100 has kinda become the default standard, and some crafty people like smutgremlin have figured out how to do a lot within that window. IMO, anybody who wants a 300x150 recip on a free site can pucker up.

I have very large recips banned like the one from CumSeeker.

I specifically went though some postings here to add more peeps from this board to my recips.

I forget who- but you have like a 300 px wide image of text. Maybe not 300px, but seemed really wide.

There's no way I'd fit that into my recip table without it looking silly IMO. :(

Some of those are just people not thinking when they slap these things together.

If I liked their traffic, I'd edit them - like that Pookie one could easily be corrected by putting a return between Pookie's & Playland.

Or just cross them off your list & move onto the next link list :)

If they are worth it, I just change them to suit into my page. And if the traffic is not really worth it, well like Greenguy said - I just drop them :)

I don't really see that much of a big problem there...

I tend to go with an unwritten rule that recips should be able to comfortable run three abreast within a 750 wide table. But if Greenguy, or Jay, & a handful of others decided to switch over to 900px wide recips, I'd redesign my pages to accomodate them.|greenguy|

But I'm not a submit whore so I don't come across huge recips. I probably should be, but lately I've only been submitting to 9-12 lists. I'm such a loser.

Same here 9-12 is enough for me.

I've been doing 18 on 1 table.

No mirror sites yet though.

I read once that people should think of every LL like a penny in the bank...even if it brings 1 surfer they may buy- ya never know.

Some people submit to 200 lists.

I'm not sure, but to me it seems like the time spent making miror sites and the time submitting would be better served building more sites at the best quality level possible.

I shoul say that based on this thread I slimmed down my new recips today, to 200 x 100. That seems to be about as big as people are willing to work with :)

I really like it when people use my ready made text recips but if someone really wants to use an image I have this one that they can use.

I am happy to use what ever recip anyone wants... but I am a bit worked up when i see a link list that tries to steal an H1 heading from my page! Its always a fine idea to double check all those codes you just copied.

I am not an SEO guru but I know enough to deal with my own titles and H1's

I completely agree on the h1 thing. Today doing recip tables I had 4 recips with h1's in them. I usually just cut down the larger recips if possible and take all the other crap out. Also, PLEASE if you're a LL owner and want your recips to look EXACTLY like you have them, take the time to make sure that your code is correct. I don't mind going back through and editing stuff but some of it's crazy. One LL I submit to puts breaks in after everything. Their recip looks fucked up like that and it's a huge chunk of code to go back through and remove all of the breaks.
I submit clean sites and I want to work with all the LLs I submit to and follow their rules but it would be so much easier if their end was done correctly. Thank you though to all of the LLs that do great recip code!

Some LL don't like their recipt being modified at all unfortunately.

Aside from submitting the odd here and there, I like to see how others sites look. If a recip table doesn't fit a screen properly because a LL owner wants their recip to be too big, I just place them next to one that's not so big. :)

Besides, many of the LL owners seem too busy going over all of our sites to care if their respective recip works or not.

I would rather have a LL owner go over my site and approve it, than have them go back and take that precious time to "fix" a recip for us.

We SHOULD be doing the work for them. html is not that hard, anyone can figure it out with a little perseverance.

Just my 2 cents for today.

I dont accept sites with oversized recips either- Inluding recips with search boxes in them. It makes the page look stupid imo.

make your own, just remembering to keep the same text, unless the site is some no PR site that gets no traffic, then i just don't even bother following their text because they have no room to say what we can do;)

In keeping with a recent "On the Bench" session called "Clueless" i was searching the board for LL that accept clean/receipt free sites..and came across this..

and just wanted to say.. I really like the way Cleo's receipts are laid out.. as she has a <----Start and and -----> so i know exactly where to to place her table rather than having to search for where the html starts when we have to replace links for Catagory |raygun| placement.

AND since this is old but coming up again.. If anyone wants clean sites to fill their LL cats up (especially newbies) .. we have about 100 covering voyeur, upskirt, webcam, Big Boob, goth, pantyhose, inflation, ebony, amateur, latex, boot, panties etc.

so hit me up and either Tart or I will send you the link.

i dont have real trouble with the big ones, i make them smaller myself, i make sure they fit my table , on this moment no linksite with big linkback had trouble with it|violin|
