Just wanted to say, Good Move Boardtracker

Finally, they have stopped ranking boards on replies only. There is still a board up kind of high that really has very little to do with this business but...what the hell? At least Boardtracker is making strides.

Greenguy 2004-12-27 04:16 PM

Ditto. Of course, figuring out how they rank them now is like trying to do a NFL QB's rating in your head, but it does look a bit more accurate now :)

RawAlex 2004-12-27 10:25 PM

Now if they would just stop reading threads that are nothing but lists of people's names and using that as a trigger... things would be nice.

Alex

Jim 2004-12-27 10:35 PM

Some people just try too hard, Alex :)

Extreme John 2004-12-27 11:31 PM

Name that board...

Greenguy 2004-12-27 11:34 PM

|drunk| |pcsucks|

That was the closest smiley I could find for someone posting :D

Now you lost me.

Greenguy 2004-12-27 11:38 PM

You really need me to hold your hand on these things? :D

Think about what I said the 2nd one was supposed to be doing & then look at what the 1st one is doing & then think of a board :)

Here's a hint - they can't do either thing any "more" than they currently are |jester|

Extreme John 2004-12-27 11:42 PM

Im officially a fuckin moron... Plain and simple.

Useless 2004-12-27 11:49 PM

I don't get it and now my head hurts from thinking about it. Can I buy a vowel?

RawAlex 2004-12-28 12:45 AM

John, naming the board would just contribute to the spam they are spewing. Literally, they took their member name list and posted it verbatim, in order to get people to get twigged by boardtracker if they have their name on there.

It's up to them, but to me it's just a cheap way to make page views and trick sponsors into thinking you actually have real traffic.

Alex

Dylan 2004-12-28 04:58 AM

I don't like the fact that if you post to a board from boardtracker it inserts hidden keywords in your post.

I guess I have never posted from there. I will have to try that out :)

OH FUCK! I dropped the ball on that one - LOL

I saw that thread on BT & actually thought it was a great idea - it's sorta like our daily Happy Birthday thread, but just a tad bit more tacky :D

Ignore my posts about the other board - I'm sure it's a wonderful place :D

How do you do that? I can't find anything over there except the links to the threads?

Alex

It was me!!! :)

I said merrey xmass to all my members , I then wished the most popular 1000 first names a Happy New Year :)

ahahahahahahaha it was a Joke , Alex.

Oh wait you have limited sense of humour.Knew you wouldn't see the funny side.

And btw it doesn't work.

Oh , Morning Greenie and Jim :)

as for that other board run by The Butcher...now THAT'S funny! ;-))

Jim 2004-12-28 12:55 PM

Hey Nick :)
I wasn't talking about the butcher board. I was talking about the board about drinking and posting more often :) It is clearly a drinking and mp3 trading board. It really has nothing to do with business. And yet...there it is.

Nick@ilynx 2004-12-28 01:01 PM

Yeah that one is pretty sad too...

I might open one on needlepoint and see if boardtracker will list it...

Jim 2004-12-28 01:17 PM

I just don't know enough about the butcher board to really comment either. I would like to know exactly who is involved and how much are they involved :)

Cleo 2004-12-28 01:20 PM

Needlepoint making naked pics of people fucking maybe or needlepoint as in unusual sex objects?

Nick@ilynx 2004-12-28 01:23 PM

He is parntered with FM.

But according to him its the #2 board on the web.

Alexa ranks it at 630,000 th lol

It is bot and surfer traffic.

Check the thread on my board , this guy hasn't a clue.

Greenguy 2004-12-28 03:22 PM

Hello Satan! |satan|

Always a pleasure to see you :D

I was asked to be a guest on that board a couple months ago, but politely passed because, well, why draw attention to another board?

So since then I get ICQ spams about finding monkey's & ad rates & whatnot. The last one asked for a link trade, but I couldn't bring myself to trade with someone that uses the default font style & size for their link trades, combines words & only uses CAPS on the 1st letter. The text for our link would look like this:

Greenguyandjim

Ummm...no thanks :D

So, you have another board? One would think the unpleasantness from the previous one would have soured you on the ownership aspect |couch|

Cleo 2004-12-28 03:37 PM

|knockout|
|popcorn|

Finally some entertainment while being stuck home with construction workers.
|couch|

Nick@ilynx 2004-12-28 03:43 PM

My pleasure Greenie :)

Unpleasantness?!?!?!?!

You can all be as unpleasant to me as you like , if it ends with you giving me the best part of $ 500,000 to go away!!!

;-))

Yeah "The Butcher" hit me up last night to swap links...

I seriously thought it was a joke , cause no one could be that dumb.Surely.I thought it was an old timer messing around..

I posted some of the exchange on my new board , but here are some of the exerts...

Him: You've made me look a fool on your board.
Me: I can't make you a fool ,I can only reveal you as one.

Him : Its no very nice thing laugh at some one like that
Me : dude what ever made you think i was nice?

Greenguy 2004-12-28 03:45 PM

Cleo - it will only get entertaining if TheButcher or one of his 7,072 members comes over to defend him :D

Would the best part of that be the 5? :D

RawAlex 2004-12-28 03:56 PM

Nick, humor is what you make it. I know you do things like that with humor in mind, but it certainly corrupts what otherwise is not a terrible tool.

I like the idea of posting someone's name in a thread and having a good chance that they might show up,either because they use a board tracker or someone they know does and will tip them off. If nothing else, it has made board whoring much easier.

I wish you luck with your new venture. I am not comfortable over there, but I am sure some people are and that is a good thing.

Alex

Nick@ilynx 2004-12-28 04:20 PM

LOL...

nope , wanna see the payment receipts . Greenie ?

I was paid approximately Can$ 500,000 to walk away from it.

I took the money.

I did not EVER lose a law suit.

It was settled by the above mentioned :)

(How's that for plain in yr face)

:)

Alex,

Why do you feel uncomfortable there?

I don't even know why you left.

Now you and I may piss and moan back and forth , but its only business nothing personal and I do actually enjoy your political arguments.

Basically I am now the only voice against it left when the flag waving begins LOL

Nick@ilynx 2004-12-28 04:24 PM

Ok... a chunk of that was offset by some money I owed Aga...

LOL

;-)))

Greenguy 2004-12-28 04:56 PM

My intention was not to bait you into posting that info, but thanks none-the-less :D

Well you've always been a master baiter.... ;-)))

RawAlex 2004-12-28 05:32 PM

Nick, welll... I won't go into it. Find my last post, read the thread. That's all there is to it. I emailed over to Gonzo with a request, I hope it has been handled. Nothing against you or Gonzo, you two are both good people with, umm, different approaches to marketing. I don't always agree, but heck, that would be boring.

It's not improving my business, so I can't say that I am missing anything.

I am sure you do well with it, you have already made a major change in tone over there.

Alex

Thumbler 2004-12-28 09:30 PM

Sometimes.... occasionally.... things go right over my head. This is one of those occasions.

I don't have a clue what this thread is about - put me down with Extreme John as officially a fuckin moron!

RawAlex 2004-12-28 10:26 PM

Thumbler, the thread is about 3 different things that are somewhat related in non-similar manners, with non-important but significant related facts and issues that lead to an overlap in the discussion areas.

I hope that helps.

Alex

RE: Invisible Boardtracker Keywords

Oops. Sorry. My apologies. It's the poster that inserts the invisible keywords. This is on another board.

The poster does the same thing on this board, except the keywords aren't invisible.

Example here: http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...threadid=14317

Jim 2004-12-30 09:38 AM

Yeah Dylan, that was the poster that did that :) I tested it as soon as you mentioned it.

You should have seen it before I edited it :D

Extreme John 2005-01-02 01:30 AM

It's amazing how small the world is, or how funny certain things are, before this thread and a quick conversation with Greenguy, I never paid much attention to the board that focus's on Drinking and blah blah blah... Than less than 24hrs after that conversation the morons of that particular place decide to make comments under their breath in a sense which include some false accusations, than refuse to actually fess up and discuss their thoughts.

needless to say it's turned into a Circus clown performance, with one of the clowns girlfriends making comments about how they will meet someone that works for me in vegas... OOOOOOOO Scarry..

So greenguy, maybe you have a way of predicting the future..

Greenguy 2005-01-02 08:01 AM

While I may or may not be able to predict the future, Jim seems ti like to "stir pots" these days :D
