2004 - 2005 NFL Playoffs

Fucking Seattle..... Get a fucking WR in the off season. It’s bad enough you have the greatest WR ever in the history of the NFL and you never once throw at him in a playoff game, but to keep dropping pass after pass after pass is just sickening.... I mean really, so what Rice is old as dirt, what could he do that’s worse then what the other guys are doing? Drop it?

GO HORSE!
GO BOLTS!

RawAlex 2005-01-08 10:54 PM

Seattle blew it MAJORLY. They had any number of chances to win the game, any number of chances to pull away, and instead, well... they dropped the ball.

San Diego game is more than a little weird with the rain...

Alex

Torn Rose 2005-01-09 12:07 AM

Dammit!

Good game, crappy ending....

Go Horse....

42!!

Jerry Rice, Position: WR Height: 6-2 Weight: 200 Born: 10/13/1962 College: Mississippi Valley State NFL Experience: 20. Seattle Seahawks. ...

Bet he can still hold on to the ball. The thing that what was so impressive about him tonight was that he is still playing with his heart. He never slowed up in his patterns and was removing two defensivee backs from the action on the ball.

Of course I am biased - another Mississiippi great!

T Pat 2005-01-09 12:54 AM

I still don't understand why Rice was on the bench

Damn it was a good game

I think the Boltz will be strong next year
there will be rioting in the streets if they let Breeze go

twintone 2005-01-09 04:22 AM

Man.. couldn't ask for more with both games today / night.. Jets / Chargers game was one of the best post season games I have ever seen.. can only hope we have a super bowl that good. That has been a LONG time coming!

Ramster 2005-01-09 09:24 AM

Both games were good. I gotta agree on Jerry Rice. Play him at least and throw him some balls. He had some good games this year with them.

Bonehead play of the year? Number 50 for the Jets allowing the game to continue when he tried to take off Brees head. Dumbass!

Greenguy 2005-01-09 10:08 AM

Torn - you sure you weren't watching an old tape of your FF team playing mine? :D

cockNballs 2005-01-10 08:49 AM

"GO HORSE!
GO BOLTS!"

Torn we have 2 Purdue starting tackles on the Patriots, can you give them a little love? Isn't that your college team?

Torn Rose 2005-01-10 09:46 AM

Yeah I know, you have Gorin, Light, Mruczkowski and Colvin which makes this hard, since the Colts just have Gardner.

But I’ve never had a “Home team” win any Championship. The closest was the Pacers in 2000, so it’s about time we get to raise a championship banner to the rafters.

If the Colts lose then I really won’t be rooting for anyone else, just will want to see good games.

RivalDiamondz 2005-01-11 01:51 PM

Bah, Manning took my team and bent them over his knee. Damn rookie corner, could have maybe almost been a game had Walls been healthy *Shrugs* None-the-less Indy is my hope for the AFC, so I'm with ya on the Go Horse call.

Torn Rose 2005-01-15 04:42 PM

We have kick off in week 2!

I think Pitt will pull it out, but I wouldnt mind seeing the jets win, just cause I'd like to see the AFC Championship in Indy |jackinthe

Torn Rose 2005-01-15 07:34 PM

wow.... 2 missed FG's....

OT !!!!!!

Greenguy 2005-01-15 07:37 PM

DAMMIT I'm tellin the bills on your ass hahaha
To win your offesne has to score some points and jets didn't
I'd have been pissed if they won that one for sure.
I hate the Pats plain and simple and man
they have way to many fans up here haha, but thats what'll make tomorrow so
sweet when indy kicks their ass and breaks the losing streak
of 0-5 for manning

Porn Meister 2005-01-15 09:20 PM

Jets kicker choked so hard I felt it from here! dayum that was bad!

Torn Rose 2005-01-16 12:10 PM

5 hours to kick off..... GO HORSE!

|horse| |horse| |horse| |horse|

It sucks, I love Culpepper, I like the Vikes, I love McNabb, I like Philly, but I can not stand Moss and TO..... By far the 2 worse excuses for "sportsmanship" in the league....

I guess I'm rooting for Philly since TO isn’t playing.

Torn Rose 2005-01-16 07:13 PM

Figures.... always getting dominated in the big games....ho hum....
|sad|
There’s a story that when Irsay hired Dungy he told Dungy that the D is what it is, all his $ was to go to the Offense.....

Maybe this will wake Irsay up and smell the coffee that Defense wins Championships and Freeny can not cover 11 guys at once.

Greenguy 2005-01-16 08:06 PM

WOW! Do I suck or what? I had to go get this quote of mine from yesterday's thread:
http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...threadid=15344

Quote:

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for, sorta going game by game. I'd like to see Minnesota, St Louis, The Jets & Indy advance today, but that's mostly because I had guys on those teams in my Fantasy Leagues

dareutwo 2005-01-17 07:18 PM

sorry, I'm a day behind, dial up sucked.

Rice will be back next year. (where?? don't know)
Brees will be gone from SD.

As far as the championships etc... from Indy to the West Coast, nobody cares.
Ratings will be way down for championship games.
Of course the Super bowl will have it's ratings as always, but if it's not close, 2nd half ads won't be seen.

Really a dissappointing year I think.

Remove all the Domes, and let's play some real football |bananna|

3 of the 4 remaining play outdoors & in cold weather climates - but I do have to admit that watching Indy play indoors is much more gooder than watching them play in New England :)

dareutwo 2005-01-17 08:14 PM

We play Hockey and Basketball up here.
HS Football in MN - just to get in shape for BB or Hockey.
VA, TX, MS, AL, FL, CA - those are football States. (probably missing a bunch)

Green Bay doesn't have a dome, Chicago doesn't have a dome.
Remove them all and let's have some fun.
If you're a fan in MN, duh, you know it's 15F out.... you do have the clothes for it.

Would love to see a Texans(Dallas)/Vikes game in December without a dome, like the old Vikes/Dallas games at the Met... Now THAT was football.

GG - search and see how many Dome teams have won playoff games outdoors :(
MN sucks outdoors, especially away.

Anyway, I'm already past football and way into the NBA already.
Though we've sucked the past week or so.

pornrex 2005-01-19 07:30 AM

Guess who I'm rooting for?

:)

Torn Rose 2005-01-19 09:45 AM

Indy is planning a new stadium now, it will have a retractable roof like the one in Houston, and my guess is as long as the offense is as it is, the roof will be closed a lot.

|touchdown

Greenguy 2005-01-19 10:11 AM

So when Indy has the ball, the roof is closed & when the other team has the ball, the roof is open?

Torn Rose 2005-01-19 10:18 AM

Sure why not? How’s that any worse then a snow blower on the field right ALJim?

cockNballs 2005-01-19 10:55 AM

snowblowers are legal against the dolphins when the score is tied 0 - 0

|bananna|

cockNballs 2005-01-19 10:59 AM

"the Patriots' 3-0 "Snow Plow Game" victory over Miami on Dec. 12, 1982. With neither team able to score during a raging snowstorm, tractor driver Mark Henderson -- a convicted burglar on a work-release program -- alertly cleared a path with his snow brush for John Smith's 33-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter.

Not surprisingly, the NFL quickly banned grounds crews from doing anything to create a physical advantage, but two heroes were born. The Patriots still use that John Deere tractor, and Henderson received a loud ovation when he drove it onto the field during a 2001 reenactment."

they still have it |jester|

Torn Rose 2005-01-19 12:19 PM

Your forgot the part where the coach called a timeout and told the driver to go out and do it........ where is he now? |waves|

cockNballs 2005-01-19 12:21 PM

I think that was Ron Meyer at the time

don't know where he is

but Mark Henderson is out of Jail and no longer on work release

maybe the warden was a pats fan? |jester|

cockNballs 2005-01-19 12:25 PM

Here he is here

http://www.winningedge.com/handicappers/ron.php

he coached the Colts too

cockNballs 2005-01-19 12:26 PM

Geez Torn

you should know

hes also a Purdue grad

Coach Meyer graduated with Honors from Purdue University in 1963

Torn Rose 2005-01-19 01:07 PM

Yep, I knew that lol....

A guy I knew went to a New Years party in Indy a few years ago, turned out it was Meyers house.

He had just started this thing of his I belive, its been a few years since I even thought of him.

cockNballs 2005-01-19 01:27 PM

2 or 3 years ago I heard he was interested in getting back into coaching

but I think having a website involving gambling would be bad for the NFL

Torn Rose 2005-01-23 02:55 PM

I think I have to go with the Pats vs the Dirty Birds in 2 weeks....

Pats have too many Boilermakers playing for them for me not to root for them, and honestly.... they are just too damn good as a team.

Pitt has the feel good story going for them, and I like them as well, but just not enough “team” to beat the Pats.

No TO for Philly so I can root for them, but I think Vick will make the difference.

Philly will be considered the little brother to the Bills after today… 0-4….
