I'm having surgery soon
 

Now it is "official"... I posted that I'm in big pain and my face is so swollen still that I cannot open my left eye.. I woke up last week this way and after visiting the dentist and having an x-ray I was told that when the antibiotics I got kick in I should prepare for surgery... one of my upper teeth broke out but its roots are in a mess with the roots of another tooth like some knob.
So I am on antibiotics and modest pain killers being allergic to most of them.

can I be sick and in pain you always make me smile or laugh... you are a godsend :)

When I was in my twenties I had a wisdom tooth do that to me, hurt like hell.

In a week it should be all behind you. :)

Damn, I hate teeth problems. The last time I went to the dentist, I had a tooth removed. For months after that, I had spurs coming through my gums. It was painful...good thing they gave me percocet :)

Amen to that Cleo... and I am antisocial i.e. don't drink alcohol, don't take drugs which could help temporarily.. maybe. |cool|

My oral surgeon friend rocks... can't wait for him to say it's time to do the surgery. My problem is the allergy to most med.s but I hope the latest I got today will work without side effects.

I was living in Boston at the time and a friend convinced me to do some heroin for the pain. I ended up puking for like three days. That was the last time I ever did that drug I think.

Like you weren't sick enough without it... oh dear. I cannot even take an aspirin without puking.

Ugh... I feel for you digifan, I have a petrifying fear of teeth problems. You will want to stock up on lots of stong painkillers. :) Hope it goes OK and you recover quickly.

Not sure yet Amber, hopefully this week when my swollen face looks a bit more normal we were changing antibiotics 2 times so far in 4 days... atm touching my nose hurts like hell.. I have no problems with dentists if I have no problem with my teeth :)

I also hope you recover soon and start feeling better. Nothing worse than not feeling well. :(

Eeek.. I bet that hurts like hell. I had a tooth break on me a couple years ago that got infected and eventually made my face swell up a little bit, and that hurt like a motherfucker. I can't imagine how bad yours must hurt.

A tip for when you're at the oral surgeons office: after they inject you with the shit that knocks you out, just lay down, it wont be long. When I got mine taken out they were asking me questions trying to keep me calm or whatever after they shot me up and I went out mid-sentence as I was replying... I felt so stupid when I woke up :D. Beats the shit out of novicaine though. I got that tooth and 2 wisdom teeth extracted at the same time and had very little post-op pain.
