Buying Traffic

To those who have had success buying traffic, what services do you recommend and which ones would you avoid?

I'm not looking for spam here, but honest replies from webmasters who have actually done this.

Choker Traffic is pretty good. You can buy traffic in 1,000 hit allotments.

Linkster 2005-03-22 05:53 PM

It depends on the use for the traffic - Ive used a few different services that specialize in certain types of traffic - the two I can still recommend are Choker and FPC at http://buy.fpctraffic.com/
for feeder and general traffic.

For more specialized niche stuff I kinda like Google AdWords :)

Joe 2005-03-22 05:57 PM

In terms of high prod and clicked traffic, I think it's a unanimous decision that Traffic-Out.com is your best bet.

I agree, Adwords is gold. The only downside is that it takes trial-and-error. So if you don't mind losing money in the beginning, go with Adwords. |thumb

Where are you planning on sending the traffic to? A lot depends on the type of site you are sending the traffic to and what you are trying to achieve - gain bookmarkers, make sales, improve trades etc. I use different traffic sources for different things, and some traffic sources I wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. But the ones mentioned so far in this thread I would recommend, plus one or two others.

I'm primarily looking to make sales.

I think they mean are you going to buy the traffic FOR a linklist, tgp, galleries or free sites... where are you going to have it sent?
I want to buy some good traffic for my linklists so which would you guys recommend from that list so far?

Essentially it would be for a small site that promotes a particular webcam sponsor. I used to promote it using Google Adwords, but that's been less successful lately.

natalie 2005-03-23 01:00 AM

Ahh well I noticed that Chokers Free/Paysite Traffic has a niche for webcam, and http://www.fpcclicks.com/ has a link where you can ask for niches that arent on their list.

Mr. Blue 2005-03-23 01:16 AM

I've used Choker and had a bit of success. Nothing huge, but I made a small profit. I think a lot of that is trial and error, seeing what pages sell, etc.

mniki 2005-03-23 06:12 AM

Hi
Is it possible to buy traffic directly for the main site not for tgp, mgp, free sites ....

thx in advance for replay

Greenguy 2005-03-23 06:13 AM

Let me just say THANK YOU to those that have posted so far & not made this into a |spam|fest |shake|

Useless 2005-03-23 06:25 AM

Pay me in advance and I will promote your program and send real traffic to you that is known to be very productive, ie link list traffic. I'm the best traffic broker I have ever used, and I've used a few.

Linkster 2005-03-23 06:29 AM

Fisty - actually for that type of site, using some sort of feeder free sites submitted to Link Lists would be a much cheaper and more efficient way of promoting it - use your existing site as sort of a hub and link free sites to it.

mniki 2005-03-23 06:33 AM

What I would like to do Is buy some small amount of traffic around 10k-15k just to test design/ convert ratio of the site. If you have any suggestions msg me.

Mr. Blue 2005-03-23 06:39 AM

What I did for my gallery pages...I ran them all for a week before on TGP's. I tested see which ones got hits, clicks, and signups. The best performing I submitted to choker...bought 50k of traffic and spread it over 10 gallery pages. It worked out nicely...but you seriously have to test the pages before you pay for hits.

That's very interesting - I've also been using adwords to promote a webcam sponsor and for 18 months or so it was very succesful, but the last two or three months have been pure crap. In fact not even that good.

Tommy 2005-03-23 09:24 AM

Hmm...... I got an open spot on my movie page, I would consider selling it to an honest LL or TGP for a month

nibbler 2005-03-23 03:40 PM

OOOOOOOK!

natalie 2005-03-23 05:59 PM

I am trying some traffic from http://buy.fpctraffic.com/ at my newest linklist, because its so new I should be able to tell what kind of return I get from it. Will tell you all how it went :D

Thanks, Linkster. I will definitely give your advice a try. PPC just hasn't been paying off lately.

Best,
Fisty

I can comiserate with you. Something definitely caused a change in the overall conversions. Rumors abound as to why, but the fact remains that certain things don't work as well as they once did.

Dr Bizzaro 2005-03-24 11:17 AM

Traffic out has been by-far the best traffic I have bought from any site. (Although they dont allow pay sites.)

I have also been messing around with Google Adword with mixed results. Like someone already said, it's trial and error.

I also sell PPC traffic from Drbizzaro (and a small network of my sites) that people seem to be very pleased about. (Actual links and banner clicked traffic. No pop-up's, or blind traffic.)

I can attest to that, nothing beats Dr Bizzaro's quality traffic. :)

agree. traffic out is good guy runs a good show. hey drbizzaro :)

miracle 2005-03-26 07:01 AM

I buy tgp feeder traffic from traffic-out.com which is very productive. Also have tried fpctraffic which is not as productive but pretty cheap, so I'd say I am happy with that one too.
For gallery traffic I get submit passes.

Well I tried 20000 hits from FPC (yes it was cheap) but I don't seem to have any sales I can directly attribute to it. However I gained some new submitters which is cool and I think some bookmarkers.
This week I have bought some from choker. Its the general traffic for free sites/ paysites. Costs a lot more but hopefully it will perform accordingly.
I will check out DrBizzaros next I think.

If anyone is reading this thread and itching to post spam for their traffic site then please go to the thread I just started on the spam board and post your spam there. The thread is "Gallery Posters And Traffic Sellers Please Read This".

Trafficrouter - http://www.adult.trafficrouter.com is a pretty good system, you can buy and sell traffic direct from webmasters in an auction system with real time delivery. Theres occasionally some expired domain traffic there that works pretty well for paysites

ecchi 2005-03-31 03:39 PM

I get very suspicious of anything that expects you to sign up before you can read the FAQ, but http://www.adult.trafficrouter.com seem to go one step further and expect you to agree to their terms and conditions before you can read them.

If this is an honest company it must be the worst designed site I have ever seen.

Ravo 2005-03-31 03:56 PM

ecchi: I agree that trafficrouter's site may be a little bit confusing; it took me a while to figure out what is was all about. But, now that I've been using it for a few weeks, I'm very impressed with it. It's a great system to both buy and sell traffic.

For your info, there is a link to the terms on their main page, and you can use a guest login to see the inside of the site.

ecchi 2005-04-01 11:37 AM

RE: "you can use a guest login to see the inside of the site" - Yes, but if you use it then try to look at the FAQ (or any other page of the type you would want to see before signing up) you get redirected to the sign up page.

Ravo 2005-04-01 02:35 PM

I wasn't aware of that. It certainly is a strange way to set up a site.

MMemmer 2005-04-01 02:39 PM

From everyone I have ever spoken to about it, Choker has a tremendous reputation for delivering a quality product. |headbang|

myke 2005-04-01 03:25 PM

The Trafficrouter front end is a bit rough - it was designed in Linux by a C programmer in raw html is the current excuse. But the functionality is there - once you get used to it you see its like a big mixing deck for traffic - you can turn traffic off and on to your site in any amount from any supplier and it responds in seconds. All the traffic is 3rd party sources and theres some real gems in there if you look for it. There are guys with great quality expired domain traffic that are selling - using Trafficrouter rather than building their own distribution network.
