Dogma DVD Arrived

1 Attachment(s)
My DVD for posting 10,000 posts arrived today. :)

Guess I know what I will be doing tonight.

Greenguy 2005-05-02 06:11 PM

For a religious nut like you, it should be a good movie :D

ecchi 2005-05-02 06:15 PM

Red Bull ? I am surprised at you. All the posts I see from you about healthy eating, and you drink that poison.

Cleo 2005-05-02 06:22 PM

A little poison is healthy. |potleaf|

;)

Torn Rose 2005-05-02 06:42 PM

what time shall we be there? ;)

pornrex 2005-05-02 06:59 PM

Its DOGMA

Cleo 2005-05-02 07:01 PM

Yes it is…

cd34 2005-05-02 07:25 PM

note how Buddy Christ and the remote have ghost images -- spooky. :)

That is quite a decorative wand there...... haha

Cleo 2005-05-02 07:30 PM

It's a handheld 1/4 second exposure using the overhead recessed kitchen halogens with the lighting somewhat fixed in Photoshop. I was too lazy to drag out decent lighting and the built-in flash caused massive glare on the DVD case.

swedguy 2005-05-02 07:50 PM

Looks like your evening is set :D

How did this whole Dogma/GG&J thing start?

Yell 2005-05-02 09:15 PM

Hey thats where my tivo clicker is and thats my bowl and |potleaf| |couch|

ecchi 2005-05-02 09:27 PM

re "A little poison is healthy. |potleaf| " Yeah the |potleaf| may be healthy, but drinking Red Bull is worse that super sizing at McD then going on to KFC and having an entire family bucket for dessert.

Cleo 2005-05-02 09:32 PM

OK, I'll bite, what is so evil about Red Bull?

Jim 2005-05-02 09:37 PM

Maybe they are talking about this
http://www.snopes.com/toxins/redbull.htm
I know I just hate the taste.

ecchi 2005-05-02 09:43 PM

re : "OK, I'll bite, what is so evil about Red Bull?" Sit at a computer with a can of the stuff. Go to Google (or your favourite SE). Do a search on every item in the ingredients column (individually) and read the "side effects" of them. I guarantee that after doing this you will be more likely to drink the urine of a syphilitic leaper than another Red Bull.

Is that all you got?
Unless you have 100% irrefutable evidence, you cannot say anything about it. Except that is does taste like crap.

Cleo 2005-05-02 09:45 PM

"Other whispers state that the drink is formulated from bull testicles"

This explains why I drink it. :/

BTW, I drink the sugar free version. I believe it is sweetened with the sweat of kangaroo's feet.

Well when you put it that way, fuck Red Bull. I'll stick with Pink Pussy - its caffeine free, sugarless, and mouth watering.

Just read the article Jim posted. I note they depute the claim "been proved to be wildly addictive" but agree "the amount of caffeine (equivalent to that found in a typical cup of coffee)". You can't have it both ways.

ecchi 2005-05-02 09:57 PM

RE "I drink the sugar free version." An even better idea, drink a drink designed to keep you wired and full of energy but take out the only ingredient in it that feeds your body during that "high energy" period. Your poor body.

Greenguy 2005-05-03 08:23 AM

I actually like the taste of the Sugar Free Red Bull (once I started dieting, I switched & now the regular stuff is too sweet for me) and now that I'm not drinking, I like the little buzz it gives me after downing 6 or 7 of them :D

terry 2005-05-03 08:38 AM

I must admit, I have never tried Red Bull .. but I remember everyone drinking it last year in Florida in the GG&J party room ... most of you were telling me its deadly ... guess I owe you all a great big THANK YOU then. Is it really that bad?

Cleo 2005-05-03 08:44 AM

I like the taste of the sugar free stuff, regular is way too sweet for my taste.

I don't drink it it everyday but do often do a can of it before the gym or sometimes in the afternoon instead of coffee. Also if my friends drag my ass out to a club I'll drink it trying to stay awake since I don't care for drinking alcoholic beverages.

ecchi 2005-05-03 09:11 AM

RE "downing 6 or 7 of them" Dead man walking.

Cleo 2005-05-03 09:14 AM

At least I don't smoke cocaine anymore…

My brain must have been asleep last night when I read the link Jim posted. Anyone else notice this statement in defence of Red Bull :

Glucuronolactone is a naturally-occurring metabolite, a carbohydrate produced by the human metabolic system. It most certainly is not "an artificially manufactured stimulant"........

So if it is not an artificially manufactured stimulant, they are saying it is extracted from human bodies. Yuck. If it were not for the fact that I doubt if they have their facts correct, there is another damn good reason to avoid the stuff.

Greenguy 2005-05-03 01:31 PM

Glucuronolactone is a carbohydrate, a kind of sugar. It is naturally occurring in our bodies where it is produced from glucose. It is also present in different foodstuffs, such as grain or red wine.

So you can throw the "extracted from human bodies" theory right out the window :D

RE "So you can throw the "extracted from human bodies" theory right out the window" I never really believed it. I was pointing out that glucuronolactone is either artificially manufactured or extracted from human bodies. And if, as they claim, the glucuronolactone in Red Bull is not artificially manufactured then it must be extracted from human bodies. In other words, I was saying that the debunk page is as much |bullshit| as the article they were debunking.

(Before I posted that, I sent the site's WM a similar message. Their reply was that they knew that what they were saying was not true, but they did not seem to care.)

ecchi 2005-05-03 01:53 PM

Although does this mean I will have to stop eating Red Bull with some fava beans and a nice Chianti? :D

ecchi 2005-05-03 02:04 PM

On a more serious note. Cleo you said you drink the stuff at the gym. Although the drinks manufacturer claims the drink is safe under normal circumstances, they also say you should never mix it with exercise. Apparently people have dropped dead from drinking it before doing something strenuous eg. 18 year old Limerick student who’d drunk three cans of Red Bull before a basketball tournament and died.

You are also not supposed to drink it if you are under 16 or mix it with alcohol, as it is more harmful in these two cases.

I drink Gatorade at the gym but do either drink a Red Bull or an American size cup of espresso before the gym.

I also take Excedrin each more since I need aspirin to thin my blood due to artificial vein grafts in my leg. Excedrin has a shit load of caffeine in it so I get a pretty big kick from that and the espresso each morning.

Yeah I know this is probably not real heathy.

Greenguy 2005-05-03 02:28 PM

Slurm - LOL - I forgot about that one :D

digifan 2005-05-08 09:53 AM

Sugarfree Redbull? I want some... I have odd sleeping patterns but when I wake up my blood pressure is very low so I have coffee, a green and black tea mix and all that jazz.
