wierd thing i was on a date recently thats not the wierd part. But I got a wierd reaction when i told her what i did for a living. I think she got the wrong idea about what i do. She siad i guess that would be any guys dream job. but I suspect she wasn't thrilled to hear it. do any other single adult webmaster tell there dates what they really do?

I'm not single, but "web design and internet marketing" is always a nice soft sell to the mainstream crowd.

Yup, Internet Marketing is the best and most vague thing I've come up with. Sometimes I just say that I'm a stay at home dad. I don't like being asked what I do. Why not just ask my personal worth?

Before I did what I did (last post) I was a photographer. Thats a hard living, and just fell into shooting porno back when there really was limited internet. I was shooting for barely 18 and chic and cheri. It was a nice deal. $1200.00 for 1 single layout and if I got a cover that was another 1k. I was also shooting model portfolios and making an ok living doing that. Around $500 a shoot. They both had to remain a seperate business. The porno credits were always and alias. If the "pro models" found out I shot porn they would not want to shoot with me. Funnything tho. I have found most adult shooters are the best when it comes to shooting females. They know the best lighting, angles etc etc. But I would never tell the models that. I knew they could not handle knowing they were also being shot by a adult shooter. Anyway when I went out on dates back then I would never tell the date that I shot porno. I tried to be honest one night and it just blew up in my face. The girl freaked out and was saying I take advantage of the models. Which I never did. I had a strick policy to never date one, touch one, or call them for anything other then business. If you crossed that line as a shooter you were hard pressed after a little while to find work. Anyway , long story short. I always told them I just shot model portfolios, they thought it was cool. I thought it was ok, but if they only knew that the meals they were eating were being paid for by porno lol. Anyway thats my side of the story. jugg..

Made this mistake of saying what I did Once.. Now it's internet marketing and programming.
However, quite of few of my good friends that are couples, and whom I knew for years before we moved up here, they know what I do.
They don't give a damn. And if they get asked what I do, they say programming.. lol.

I tell them what I do. If they have a problem with it, they would have a problem with it later too.
But I usually go for "I create and sell sexual fantasies" than "adult webmaster", it works better :)

I always feel someone out before I tell them what I do. Some people think I am in marketing, some people think I teach people how to make money on the internet and some think I am a pornographer.

Well I am married so I don't have the girlfriend issue, but I had a pretty prestigous job prior to webmastering, and I haven't even told my family what I do. I don't know how to even tell them, as I know my mother would fucking drop. But I don't know what is worse, as they all think I am a bum and just bike and play video games. |angry| That is what really pisses me off, is that I, like most of you webmasters out there, work incredibly long hours and if I even got paid a tenth of what I used to make I would be happy, but thats another story.

I've always wondered what other webmasters tell people.

I have two answers depending on if I give a shit if I get a bad reaction.

Web design and internet marketing if I'm banking or something like that.

I market adult entertainment on the internet for the rest. If they push for what that means I usually say memberships to adult sites mostly in the fetish genre but anything between two consenting adults over 18 is good.

So far my next door neighbors seem fine with it and actually seem to have become more friendly especially the lesbian couples on both corners of my street.

all know what i do, i only tell when they ask, i start i do interenet bizz, then ofcourse will come the question what i do, i tell them i make websites, then they say cool and what kind of websites and i say porn and start laughing because then i get...........you make porn and you are married ad you have kids and all that shit:D i dont fucking care, although it has put my daughter one time in trouble, because she went to play at an girlfriends house and the when i came to pick her up, the mom said you daughter was on one of my websites on internet, i said, well then she is an smart girl because she dont have internet at home and she dont know my website domains, yes she doe said the mom, i said so tell me, she gave me an udcth adress, i said fuck that i have only english sites, i said dont bullshit me, i got so angry that her olderst daughter of 15 confest right awy she was the one who search for that website and blamed my daughter because they knew i make pornsites, i gave the mom an preach for 15 minutes and told her to F##$%%##%*&(*) and to %$^$&^*^&( thats was is the only prolem i ever had, although some men think i am naked behind my puter all day playing with myself, they cant believe me sit in my jeans eating an sandwich with peanutbutter making porn .but then who cares what others thinkg:D

I don't get into conversations with offline people.

But if pressed for an occupation, I have clean mainstream stuff I can show them.

I tell them when they ask, but i have to admit that I didn´t have a date since I´m married. People who have a problem with my job aren´t really interested in me, so who cares what they think.

Sometimes it´s a problem at parties. I don´t want friends having a problem with my job. That´s the part when I tell them what I used to do and what I do as a hobby now. ;)

A really good friend of mine (the one that got me into this business) advised me to use the "internet marketing" line too.

To be quite honest, I found that makes the most sense because mainstream people don't really understand the jist of what we do. They have these pre-conceived notions we're shacked up in our "darkrooms" gripping ourselves and occassionally cranking out filth and perversion.

I usually tell them that Perversion is Cleo's department. :D

Seriously though, it doesn't matter who thinks what. I have about as much respect for garbage collectors as I do for politicians and adult webmasters.

Nobody is in position to judge anyone for that matter.

Both of my parents know what I do but none of the extended family on either side knows, with the exception of one uncle who's only seven years older than I am. As for the rest, somehow I don't think my southern-bred bible thumping aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents would take it real well, and I'm a big advocate of peace in the family :D

How I describe what I do depends entirely upon the person asking. I use the "internet marketing" line most often... I've found most people have so little understanding of that phrase they tend to let it go at that. I have used "I work in the adult entertainment field" a couple of times and gotten interestingly mixed results.

I kind of resent having to hide behind fancy "titles" when talking about my work. I'm in no way ashamed of or embarrassed by what I do; however, I'm also painfully aware that discretion is oftentimes the better part of valor... okay so I'm actually the poster child for nonconfrontationality and believe the path of least resistance is always best |devil|

Well my wife has been doing cam shows for about 4 years now. She pulls in great cash. Her dad was always asking what she did, always wondering about how we seemed to have so much money from just a government job. She never told him. But he found out when she gave him her old computer. Dam fucker just walked in the house and took it. Nevermind I was going to dump the drive that night when I got home. It made for a real strange next meeting with him. When I was dating I always told dates upfront exactly what I did and usuallt followed it up with something along the lines of. "I feel that you are secure enough to understand that I see naked women as a job. I mean, you are open minded and secure aren't you?"

I had one not handle it well and she was not worth the time. It did turn a few dates on but most of them just had a lot of questions and wanted to know that I wasn't really a pervert.

When chatting with people at my local coffee shop the standard answer is "Internet Marketing" ;)
