More of US rights going, going…

"In a move antithetical to our Constitution, the new 'administrative subpoena' authority would let the FBI write and approve its own search orders for intelligence investigations, without prior judicial approval," the group said in a statement. "Americans have a reasonable expectation that their federal government will not gather records about their health, their wealth and the transactions of their daily life without probable cause of a crime and without a court order."

Jaw dropping. |shocking|

Kinky 2005-06-09 09:40 AM

it's really scary what the US is slowly turning into... reminds me of one of the countries we defeated in WW 2

Cleo 2005-06-09 09:49 AM

So is Bush going to be growing a cute little under the nose mustache?

Fonz 2005-06-09 10:02 AM

I have recently started writing a book about life in general and some of the things that really get me in a uproar! (Binxgook has issues) The US government is one the biggest contributors to my daily agitation. I just cant understand how the citizens of the US can sit by and let these things happen. When will people wake up and realize that this country is not what it is supposed to be? I could go on for hours writing but I suppose I better save it for the book.

pornrex 2005-06-09 12:35 PM

It really is a terrible shame that this is happening. :(
These so-called "Christian Conservatives" are acting well beyond the intended tolerance principle levels of REAL Christianity. For those of you familiar with it will know what I am referring to and to those of you that are not, this is NOT what Christianity is about. Its about tolerance. Forgiveness.

Anyways, these people remind of that movie Bulletproof Monk. If you've seen it you'll know what I mean. Hiding behind the cloak of a moral and upright principle/way of life does NOT give them the right to act like Judge, Jury and Executioner. Before George and his crew continue further on their crusade they should stop and realize their wrongdoing with respect to Haliburton-gate and their lack of preparation for 9-11, amongst so many other things.

Now I understand why Useless said what he said regarding that whole photochop thing.|thumb

Ill tell you whats wrong, no one is dieing in front of people faces. I'm a American but can tell you that as long as I have money in my pocket I could give a shit about anything which is most peoples thoughts here. As long as I can pay the bills and go eat and drink where I want. Things like this pass over my head for about 2 minutes as I feel powerless to do anything about them. Yes I vote, yes I served and still no good as come from it ever. So what's an American to do? Sit back and let the world come crashing down. I got news for you, there is nothing you can do, if you were to raise up like other countries have in the past you would be confronted with the US military and they would kill you. Many people don't know there is a part in the oath that states. To defend against enemies foreign and domestic. I tell you from my personnal experience that many in the military would do what they were told. It would take some serious shit to convert them to help over thow the government. It would never happen, can you say defense budget? Ask some COL to give up his 5 million a year budget to end up losing his job and possibly going to jail afterwards. Sure ok. Anyway whats a person to do? Voting is the only thing that can truly change things, but people always seem to busy for that or just dont care anymore. As an American I an truly say my memory of shitty things here lasts about 1 month. It was only about 3 years ago gas was $1.30 a gallon and now look at it. But fact is people cried about the gas and then 1 month later took it as normal. It's not like the increase in gas prices are funding a war or anything. |pink

Damn sounds like we need another revolution and it can only get worse :(

Toby 2005-06-09 01:47 PM

We have another revolution every 4 years, we call it a Presidential election.

docholly 2005-06-09 02:17 PM

i found this very interesting.

what's really scary is that we might get 8 more years of Bush... as in Jeb Bush... anybody else notice the governor of florida travelling around the world and being put in the national spotlight? i'd be willing to bet that he will get more and more press the closer GW's term gets to an end

Cleo 2005-06-09 02:39 PM

Yeah I saw that, very scary.

Actually I'm already living under the rule of both the Bushes. :(

Toby 2005-06-09 02:45 PM

The really sad part is, at this point the top candidate that the Democratic party has so far for 2008 is Hillary. I hope they come up with something better before then.

Wenchy 2005-06-09 03:33 PM

What's really scary is that when someone as well respected as Howard Dean stands up and calls it like he sees it, he's the bad guy. I admire him for having the balls to say what needs to be said, heat or no heat. My biggest concern is whether or not anyone is listening :(

Anyone else here listen to Air America radio? If you don't you should because if there is an answer, I believe the movement will start there.

SirMoby 2005-06-09 03:50 PM

Does anyone remember the cold war? Are we becoming exactly what we were fighting against?

juggernaut 2005-06-09 04:09 PM

I would like to see Ben Ken Obi throw his saber into the presidental race. Seriously I don't think Jeb Bush would have much of a chance. I would think the American public is going to vote for the 1st person who claims they can really end the Iraq mess. Bush could say he will but as dumb as the public is, there still is that fool me twice rule that I have confidence in. What we really need in the office is a robot that is directly connected to the internet and everyone is required to hit the submit button once a week for all voting matters.
