Got that message today. Guess 2257 has thrown a curve into their business plan and that of many webmasters selling for them.

50 other programs have said the same thing over the last week or so - this needed a thread all it's own?

50 other programs said they would close your account if your still using their content ??

to me that seems like a big fuck you to their standard affiliates
its like everyone doesnt have enough work to do and enough worrys with the 2257

who said this, the 50 others, i don't use naughty america?? never even heard of them so could care less?? anyone have a list of the 50 others?? maybe we should blacklist their asses if that is the way they plan on handling things?? i am sure that all webmasters in their program as a whole send a fucking hell of a lot more traffic and money their way than a few top of free porn people that have been around since 1995?? WTF

Well, not 50 - but a lot of programs are no longer allowing the use of the content that they did in the past & if you don't have permission to use the content, then you're breaking their TOS, not to mention copyright laws.

I found it rather abrupt. Like being with a company for a while and they say, "We don't need you any more. Now get your sorry ass off off our property"! Maybe I am too sensitive.

I was on strike once and the CEO was quoted with saying, "Just go back to work. You're lucky to have a job". We were all abruptly replaced. (which reminds me - Ronald Reagan was a cocksucker and I'm glad he died slowly) My point being - those who hold the cash typically don't give 2 shits about who makes the cash for them. We are all finding out exactly how expendable we are. I'm assuming that Naughty America (stupid name) intends on giving ids and releases to their best promoters, but have smartly decided not to give them out to just anyone who signs up. It sucks to be a small webmaster. I'm only 5'6". Imagine how I must feel.

What the hell, so even if you don't use their content to promote their sites you're done? What about smaller or fake TGP's using their FHG's?

I could understand if they decided to just let certain webmasters (ones they know or trust) use their content but damn, there are many ways to promote a sponsor without using their free content.

This is all becoming a HUGE drag!

Especially foreign WMs being forced to pull stuff sucks, because of some dumb US regulation. As it comes down, it will be replaced with foreign sponsors that don't mind affilates promoting their sites with hardcore.

That gives the foreign WM's the Idea just how much you are fucked with this 2257 deal also

btw, a lot of programs are cutting out the free content, but they're not cutting off their affiliates. That's where this is slightly different...it sucks, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

And I am sooooo looking forward to the inundation of even more family porn, forced, mature vs. extremely young looking, wedding porn, and the like.....Access to crap like that is so much "healthier" and better for future generations to be exposed to....

That's the beauty with free content, no control, no ownership and no documents, use it and your life gets a bit more exciting...

I don't even use much sponsor free content except a little for exclusive sites like reality and amateurs. A ton of banners and FPAs with paid content though.

But, going and pulling stuff and throwing away traffic because of some redneck law in a different country get me steamed.

I don't need 2257 crap for the their content or banners, so why force me to remove it?

Can I just point out that although this message is true, there are further paragraphs which basically state that if you want to be considered a gold partner then contact Danielle who will see what she can do.

I suspect they are doing this to work more with affiliates that they feel comfortable with sending out model ID's to. Generally that would be affiliates that have a track record. If you dont have a track record then hit them up and discuss it with them.

Alternatively they could just pull everything and say fuck it to everyone like other sponsors have, at least this way they are trying to make the best of a bad situation. IMO all the foot stomping and keyboard pounding saying blacklist this and dump that based on half a message is wrong. Im sure I will get flamed for that but thats how I feel.

Oh and for the record I dont work for them but they are one of my best sponsors and I think the way they have left the door open should be applauded.

This isn't that hard of a concept to follow - they are only allowing their content to be used by webmasters that they approve (because of the 2257 docs they'll have to supply) It has nothing to do with any hosted galleries that they have or text links that you use to promote them - you just have to have permission to use their free content now - no permission means your account is canceled.

You know what I'd like to see? Anyone? No? Well, I don't want the documentation for any sponsor's models. I just want to be allowed to run the risk if I so choose and be allowed to promote them properly. If you're a sponsor who has compliant content, just allow me to use it. You keep the damn ids. I can fully understand why you'd want your non-compliant content pulled. Cause if I get caught using it I'm going to point the finger at you and Gonzalez will be at your door next. But if it's compliant, no worries, right?

Think of all the BW you will save on banners!

I promote them on my LL and never used any of there stuff and if they close my account or other honest webmasters and they do almost owe me a payout I'll ban them on my LL and WTF if your not a gold aff dont kick a webmaster off there program just dont issue them free content - kinda a dumb statement...And you dont want to see me at a porn show and run into sponsors that kept my money or fucked me...

I would imagine there will be more than a few "interesting" face to face discussions between sponsors and affiliates at Internext in August.

If you read that it says "anyone who is not a Gold Affiliate and is promoting our sites that contain our explicit content". So if you are jsut linking to them then you should be fine. Though I would contact their rep to be sure that is the case.

The way this is written, they're not talking about "promoting with free content", they're talking about "promoting sites that contain explicit content." (which would be all of them). Probably just VERY poorly worded, so I sent an email to Danielle to see what the deal is.

Cancelling accounts on people who don't use any of their content because they're not "Gold" affiliates just seems like horribly poor business to me, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until I hear back.

If they meant what I think they did instead of what they put in the newsletter, they're just doing the same thing everyone with sense is doing...no sweat. If they meant exactly what they put in the newsletter, I'm with plateman :)

I'm waiting on hearing whether or not I'm worth gold to them. They are the first sponsor I signed up with, I have a domain dedicated to their sites (full of their hardcore free content), many NA free sites, so I'm anxious to know whether or not I'm gonna lose a chunk of my work. It's been a year and now I'm benefitting from good conversions and re-occurings so I don't want to have to drop them. I was very happy up until now. I would like to keep working with their sites.

Saw this posted on another board and they are making changes. If you want to be a Gold member you don't have to be some major player just e-mail them. They want webmasters who are serious about promoting them, not some 2 hit a day webmaster downloading more content then they use. If you are not a gold member then you can still use the FHG that is on their servers. Not sure how they will work the hardcore banners since 90% have hardcore images.

yea, read the whole thing in GG's other post of sponsor emails it's not as bad as that paragraph quoted made it sound. i have a lot of sponsors going to send me ID's cuz i know them for awhile, but they are not going to give them to everyone that just signed up last week, i can see that. but everyone can still use fhg's etc

I think some things were left out in the other peoples quotes. If you are gold, then you can promote their explicit content. Otherwise, everyone else can only promote softcore. If you aren't gold and promote explicit content, then they will cancel your account. It is pretty self explanatory.

I haven't made shit with them, so it doesn't really matter to me, but I see this screwing their business, because lets face it, softcore doesn't sell nearly as well as hardcore, and if the majority of your clients can only sell softcore, then you are pretty much fucked!

Danielle has always been pretty straight up and posts over here so maybe when you email on the gold status mention you are a GG&J board member.. maybe that will be an additional 'key' to opening those golden gates er doors..
