Wolf Blizter Fuck Up On CNN

I think this will get me a mention on Opie & Anthony tomorrow :D

When I heard it, my jaw dropped. I then paused the TV, hit rewind, turned on the recorder & well.....it's about a minute long - listen near the end.

Very inappropriate.

Oh - I am kicking myself for not recording the Fox reporter that said the boat was too small to pick up Fats Domino & they'd need a much bigger boat :D

Useless 2005-09-01 10:40 PM

To sum it up, they're so poor, they're so black, and they're so fat. Very nice journalism indeed.

I'll be right back. I have to go turn my flag upside down.

emmanuelle 2005-09-01 10:41 PM

ouch!

Torn Rose 2005-09-01 10:46 PM

Almost as good as watching and hearing George chuckling when he was talking how bad it is.

sue-fl 2005-09-01 11:09 PM

My husband and I were watching it. After he said "so black" we just looked at each other. What the fuck is so black??? I bet Wolf is not looking foward to tomorrow's headlines... :D

SirMoby 2005-09-01 11:11 PM

It was a flub & we all know he didn't mean it. The guy that was on before he said that was talking about how there's the big elephant in the middle of the living room but no one wants to mention it, how everyone that you see on TV is poor and/or black (there's not a lot of white people on my screen these days)

They were also bashing Bush for not coming back form his vacation earlier (like he & congress did for Terry Shivao - ONE FUCKING PERSON) and how the lack of response is just fucking horrible.

I heard one guy comment that Bush only came back from vacation early because of all the people seeking refuge in Texas :D

Jim 2005-09-02 07:22 AM

It seems all we see in the pictures are black and old people. That was a bad fuck up but...I guess if you are not Bushes Base of voters, you are on your own.

Jim 2005-09-02 07:25 AM

Greenie, you need this cool little box I have that I think cost about $20 to record right from the tv, DVR or Tivo. I think the raw video and sound I get is about 2 megs/min so you need a little room to record anything worthwhile.

dareutwo 2005-09-02 07:37 AM

Ok, so you proved it for me GG :)

The whole thing is horrible. I went down to see why Vickie was up so early and it was because she couldn't stop thinking about these people. WTF...the Hospital Ship will not be leaving for NO until Sunday. Harry Connick Jr just said he drove by himself from Biloxi to the superdome and it took him an hour. Why the fuck are there not trucks with food and water driving there? Jesus Christ, if I knew I could get in I would load up my tuck with water and take it myself.

When the Tsunami hit, the next day we were there dropping food and water from helicopters while getting shot at..why isn't this happening in NO?

I also just heard on MSNBC that 20 countries have offered help and Bush turned them down.

Cleo 2005-09-02 08:26 AM

I don't understand why they aren't dropping tents and supplies on the freeway where all these people are held up.

dareutwo 2005-09-02 08:53 AM

Ok, at about 4am on CNN the mayor of NO was on, via a feed from a local radio station. He told it like it is!! I can't find it online yet, but watch CNN and you'll hear it.

You are right. Wouldn't it be great if there was someone, maybe someone we elected to take charge of such situations?

I found this interesting...

Vacation is Over... an open letter from Michael Moore to George W. Bush

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael Moore

Ok I'm sorry I have to laugh because people are just so stupid. I mean that comment did not even fit in anyplace in his comment. You know he was telling himself "Did I just say that out loud and on tv? Oh Shit!" What I have been wondering about this, is has anyone heard of any other countries sending help for this? I would think with so many floods in other parts of the world, some countries just might have better experts then us. Like say Amsterdam? I think they know a little something about holding back water.

Since when is Amsterdam a country? :)

RawAlex 2005-09-02 10:05 AM

Considering that stations like CNN and FOX are turning this stuff out live nearly 24 hours per day, I am shocked that more hasn't been said out of place.

I find it more funny watching an NBC special last night. Their anchor is in Biloxi, at night, and they have artfull lit up the ddebris behind him with colored spotlights and whatnot. I could only think if they had spent that much time to help the people.

Those reporters look awfully well fed and clean, considering the crap going on around them.

Alex

I thought the uneducated was his base of voters. Besides, he has no worries about elections any more. He'll just get a post at some consulting firm like his father did and have another one of his buddies hand out billions to his firm.

Ramster 2005-09-02 10:14 AM

Bush is an idiot. I still cannot believe I see bodies laying around.

WHERE THE FUCK IS THE MILITARY? Taking a boat from Norfolk? WE HAVE PLANES NOW. This is 2005, not 1905.

They are so black? Is there a difference from just black? A big ooops for him.

Well, there is a critical difference between the two. God loved Terry and as an instrument of God, GW had to act swiftly. But God has decided to smite the sinners on the south. Who is GW to meddle with God's plan?

Wazza 2005-09-02 10:37 AM

I'm very pissed off that this event has forced FOX to reduce their Natalee Holloway coverage from 18 hours a day to only 6...

She's white for fuck's sake!

THERE'S NO FUCKING JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD!

RawAlex 2005-09-02 10:43 AM

I think Bush wants to make sure that New Orleans is truly done for and non-recoverable before they even start. The Army Engineers will declare it "unsafe" for the long term, and they will plow most of it flat, possibly only saving the immediate area around the french quarter as "french quarter town" run by Disney as a tourist attraction.

I will say one thing: The politicians in New Orleans are NOT shy to call Bush and his bum buddies out, and they are 100% right.

You are now seeing the true W... and it is truly pathetic.

I read on the scrolling thing on CNN this morning that 5 weeks ago, they had a "worst case scenario" planning/meeting for New Orleans in the event of a hurricane like this.

Yell 2005-09-02 11:04 AM

Bush sucks ass................. |angry|

Why don't CNN and Fox and who ever else is there put some people on the helicopters they have and and start helping get some people out.
