God Hates The Gulf Coast....The Official Hurricane Rita Thread
You just know there's gonna be 6 threads on this, so I might as well start this so I can merge all of them.
|buddy| would NEVER be this cruel. Look at this fucker making it way between Florida & Cuba, almost like it's trying to miss them & stay over water in order to pick up a little more steam so that it can pound Houston...yes Houston. Fuck |hurricane give me |snowman2 |
I'm guessing that the refugees are hurricane magnets.
|
And to make it all worse, that bitch Rita still owes me $20 for a map of the Gulf region. |devil|
|
Seems hurricanes are taking different routes than in the past. They don't usually hit New Orleans and surely not Texas do they? Weird.
Or maybe Rita is chasing the New Orleans folks to Texas? Things that make you go hmmm.... |
Yeah, Texas gets nailed pretty often, until Katrina, I think the most costly was one that leveled Galveston a long time ago.
But the 3 degree warmer then average water in the gulf is really fueling these things, luckily there’s no such thing as global warming, so these hurricanes don’t get bigger and bigger. |
Personally, I think it's El Nino.
|
with any luck it will skip houston and hit Crawford HEAD on.. see how fast the food gets dropped then.
|
As a sailor, I have a habit of keeping an eye on the weather. One of my favourite sites is the National Hurricane Center - Tropical Prediction Center at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/index.shtml
Amazing imagery and you can spend hours looking at everything. |
Maybe a higher power is trying to hit Crawford. I would be pissed if someone kept using my name to start wars, ignore people in need and steal from all those that trust.
|
So what category are they saying it will be when it hits land?
|
2-3 at least
|
God hates trailer parks too. :)

I live in a Houston suburb (about 45 min. away from Galveston where the hurricane is predicted to hit) and I can tell you, there's a bit of a panic going on with people trying to buy water, batteries, can foods, etc. I'm not looking forward to this hurricane at all! :(
|
Don't worry, Dubya may actually cancel fund raisers to save the lives of Texans.
|
personal i think mother nature is fucked up, snow at countries who never have snow, cold where it shoud be warm and visa versa(did i say that right?) its proofen one thing human kind cant controle is the weather and its sucks huge lately:(

Some religious nut was on TV last night saying that the world will end in 2012.
I can't believe that he is crazy enough to think we all have the long. Personally I'm getting myself some new sneakers and hopping on the next comet out of here. |

I have a grand unified theory of global warming and such.
Basically, nature is attempting to get more water down to grow more plants to absorb more CO2 to make more oxygen to re-establish the balance on the planet. When that happens, the storms will slow down and things will return to normal. Until that happens, get use to it. Alex |

My 5500 watt gas generator goes through about 5 gallons of gasoline every 12 hours and last storm I had a had time even finding more gas after 4 days. I did get more fuel this time and now I'm keeping 50 gallons of gas supply. This works real well but isn't enough to run my central A/C. Tommy that is a nice feature now that you put it that way. |
Cloe - don't you have natural gas coming into the house?
|
We don't have gas pipes where I live, just electric, water and sewerage.
I really would have liked to put a gas stove in when I remolded but it just got too expensive and too much hassle having propane storage and all that. On the plus side we don't have septic tanks. |
